It has been such a long 3 or 4 months.

Husband is almost through with all his testing.

Whitebeard.....  He did his sleep study and found out he has sever apnea.  Doc called it rip roaring only seen one other as bad.  He stopped breathing 75 times in one hour.  No joke.  Now he has his machine and he hasn't snored once in over two weeks.

Me....  Being laid off on July 30th, it OK I can then fill out all my paperwork for disability.  The pain is not controlled and the heat at work is causing my swelling to get out of control.

I hope everyone has had good news since I've been gone.  At least in one month I will have all the time in the world to troll the forums.

Sad note they took away my moderator privilges since I've been gone the last couple of months  mad

Good to see you post, but sad that you're getting laid off. Or maybe that's not such a bad thing? confused Great that your husband got treatment for the apnea. To stop breathing 75 times in an hour sounds pretty scary to me! smhair

I don't understand about the moderator issue. Do you mean moderating here on HW? Because we've had moderators not be available for various reasons and I've never seen privileges be taken away. I'm sure there are things I don't know about! But if it's here maybe you can write admin and explain what happened, especially when you'll have more time come August.

I emailed Peter.  I think when your account is inactive for a period of time they remove you.  I was still trolling but I didn't sign in maybe I should of yeah    I would read post every now and then when I had a few moments. 

I've also worked so many hours I feel like it will kill me soon. mad

75x an hour was scary they say thats why he was jerking in his sleep so much.

And yes in August I will have all the time in the world to post  yeah

I'm glad your still here PAlady.  Even trolling the last month or so I've noticed some of the regulars have disappeared... rolleyes

Wow 75 times in one hour. My husband did the study too years ago and has it really bad. He should be using the machine but he refused said no way. He flips and flops all night long like a fish out of water, its awful. The mattress has to be pushed back onto to the bed every morning from him fighting all night in his sleep.

I am sorry to hear of the lay off but this may be a blessing in disguise for you girl. We all know what a gogetter you are but sometimes the body needs a rest. Will you be going out on short term disability and then long term disability?

I am surprised too that you lost the mod deal. I know mod's take breaks all the time for various reasons for months at a time too. Interesting. Take care and we will see you when you have time to troll, lol.

Glad that someone's still glad I'm here. LOL But you're right, a lot of members have either dropped out or aren't posting much these days.

Will wait to see more of you in August, but then I'd try explaining to admin or maybe another mod what happened and see if your privileges can be reinstated, unless the Kidney Diseases forum already has a lot of mods.

LOL I'm fine if I don't get my mod back. I will still troll and put my 2 cents in where ever I'm needed.

Kidney forum has one mod other then myself. Amy does really well and I will still be there for her and all the others.

I'm feeling so-so. Pretty vague answer, which I guess means not much better but not much worse. rolleyes Some nights I wish a vamp would bite me, turn me so I could heal and live forever. shocked smilewinkgrin Now there's a cure for CP!

I am into the Vampire Diaries now and see that the CW channel here has just started replaying Moonlight right after the Vamp Diaries. Two hours of vamps - woo hoo! smilewinkgrin

Ok,now all the newbies reading this will know our "dark side". tongue

Thanks for asking - really. I have finally found a good PM doc, although I have to drive almost 3 hrs to see him. But until I can get some decent health insurance especially that includes Rx coverage my options are limited. Finances are a huge stress.

I guess you're not doing so hot, considering you'll be applying for disability, but I have to view this process as a long dark tunnel that hopefully has a light and an opening at the other end.

Troll and post whenever you can.

PAlady I'm glad you found a pain doc without insurance that is a hard feat in itself.

Yes everyone of the newbies will get to know our vamp remarks..lol I would love to be able to watch those new shows but until the lay off date we are working 50+ hours a week :(

Bluejet2 yes it is a blessing in disguise at least my husband and kids think so. They hate seeing me work so many hours. They are always afraid myheart will giveout.

I will be back this afternoon gotta go work again hopefully they will let us have tomorrow off. Wow sounds like I work for slave drivers :)

     It is so good to hear from you. Though, gosh, I am terribly sorry for all you have been through these last few months. I do hope your disability goes through quickly. I am so glad your husband is finally able to get some real rest.

Hi Laurie....

Glad to hear your update.... but sorry for the whirlwind the last few months have been for you. Unfortunately, that seems to be the "theme" for most of here - so many have gone through so very much the last several months. Praying that things improve for ALL of us!

Glad your husband finally got a diagnosis to explain his difficult nights.. and glad his CPap or BiPap is working for him.

I hope your disability goes through quickly for you, and look forward to you posting more again :) Take care, Laurie...

I have been wondering how you were and what ever happened to you and how your husband is doing! You know it takes time to get results from using PAP you don't get sleep apnea over night and the symptoms of it do not go away over night either. But just make sure he sticks with it, because in a while he will see that it does make a big difference in his life! Severe Sleep Apnea can really take its toll on your body, and it can even kill you! I am glad he has got it diagnosed and is getting it treated! How has all his other medical stuff turned out? Do they have any idea what is going on with him? And as for you, How have you been Laurie? How on Gods green earth have you been able to work all those hours and sustain yourself with your condition? Maybe going on disabiltiy will be a good thing for you???? Anyway you have been missed, it will be good to see you back posting regularly again soon!

Hey Tommy I have missed all of you!!!

I was wondering how long it took for him to get some rest.  He has been using his CPAP now for two weeks.  He's linked through wireless right now so they can monitor him.  They say someday they might be able to let him just change to a smart card.  I guess hes that bad they want to monitor him everynight.  He's still so tired all the time.  His nose hurts and gets irritated.  He has facial hair so they gave him the nose thingy.  He didn't use it lastnight don't know why I will have to ask about that when he wakes up.

He is still going to through many many tests.  The growth on his adrenal gland has got them more then concerned.  Today alone he has two doctors appointments and he even has to work.

Me on the other hand I don't know how I'm doing it.  I try to stay busy at work so the pain can work for me instead of against me.  Does that make any sense?  I have been using slightly more pain meds then normal just to get through a day.  Sometimes I come home or wake up and wonder what the heck I'm doing.  I started to get chest pain the other day a work so I came home for  a nap then went back after three hours.  My family was upset that I went back.

Ok enough of me what about everyone else?  Have all of you beend doing ok?  SOmeone mentioned that some members have had a few bad months? I hope everyone starts to come out of them as I am.

I have lots of facial hair, I use the Fit Life mask it covers the entire face, so you don't have any pressure points on your nose or anywhere on your face to get irritated or sore. And the mask has a very low leak rate even with the whiskers! So he might want to switch masks and try that one. I bet I tried a couple of dozen mask before I found one that I liked. I have been useing this Fit Life mask since it came out last August! You know my sleep Doctor told me to give it at least 90 days to not be so tired, and he was just about right, it tool only a coulpe of weeks for the night sweats and the nocturia to go away, but it was a good three months before the extreme tiredness and the unyeilding fatigue to start to loosen its grip on me, and another couple of months before it was actually gone. So you really do have to be patient with using PAP but the results are worth it in the end! It really does make a difference in your life, it just takes time to notice it! So keep on him to use it, this is one of those things that have a very high failure rate, and it is very difficult to get use to, ( I mean really it is not easy to adjust to trying to sleep with a seemingly thousand mile an hour wind blowing up your nose and into your mouth all night long!) But the only way to get use to it is to use, it every night all night long!! So don't let him skate out of using it, not even for one night! If he need help there is alway the sleep apnea support forum to go to http://www.apneasupport.org/index.php there is a guy named White Beard that is there to give him some help and support if he needs it.

This place is laying you off at the end of July and you have chest pains, come home to rest, and go back to work??? smhair Lady unless you're going home to drink some True Blood smilewinkgrin to help you heal, you need to follow your family's advice! yeah Not only should you stay home, but you should seek some medical treatment for chest pains and you know it!!! Don't give this employer any more of your life than you already have! Please!

Now promise me, ok? I want you around to go vamping with me! smilewinkgrin yeah

Laurie and PaLady, I am having myself a very good laugh at you two. I forgot that you two were the vampire ladies, lol. Come to think of it, I saw a show on tv and it had weekly series and it was vampires, is this the show you all were talking about back then? Well, I sort of got into it and that is saying a lot for me because I do not watch tv, lol.

Seriously girl, chest pain and after a nap you went back to work, sheesh.

I know this is OT although not for Laurie & I, but I never was into vampire stuff and never dreamed I would have been until a year or so ago and I completely blame Laurie for that (well, she might have had some help LOL).

Actually, I had HBO awhile back and somehow started watching True Blood, which is an HBO series. No longer can afford HBO, but have since discovered on non-cable TV there are a few things dealing with vamps. The CW network here has a series called Vampire Diaries which is a lot like the Twilight movies but in TV form. And they just started replaying all the episodes a couple of weeks ago. And they tagged right after Vamp Diaries an older series called Moonlight which is also about vamps and it's neat because it's more "high tech". I had seen the first season of Moonlight (someone on this board turned me on to it) on the SciFi channel, but they never made a season 2 - I'm hoping they do). Now I see ABC has a summer series that just started called The Gates on Sunday nights. It's ok so far, but not as good as the other stuff!

Straydog, we welcome you to the vamp squad, but but be careful of the initiation rituals! LOL

PaLady, yes that was the name of the show I was watching, True Blood. Listen, it had to be good to get me to sit still long enough to see an entire show, lol. My idea of watching tv when I did watch it was walking thru the living room as I cleaned, cooked or did laundry, lol. I never saw an entire show or movie, lol. Drove the husband nuts.

Straydog (PAlady have'nt gotten to you yet) I have Season One on DVD if you want to borrow. PALady still hasn't asked me to mail them yet. But they are getting dusty and someone needs to watch them..lol

Now onto PALady.... You are way too funnyyyyyyy. I'm shocked I have been gone so long. I still love my vampires and all creatures of the night.
My reading has sky rocketed on these subjects. Also anyone who wants some good reads can also get me to mail them...lol
Chestpain now. I have medication that I take when it occurs. Its come along with my CHF but only shows its ugly face on occasions. I made a comment on another post that on another thread that I have been accused of taking my job seriously. I'm determined to make sure all DVD new releases are in the stores on time for all of you! LOL

Whitebeard... Failure rate I can see being high. He took the machine off cuz it was out of water and kept beeping and he works as hard as I do so too tired to mess with it. He has to succeed for his CDL is on the line. Even though he doesn't drive much anymore, still needs it to be the lead driver, dispatcher and supervisor of the Whirlpool Logistics. Thats enough insentive to NOT FAIL. Plus I have to retire so we have to rely on his income. WOW about the new mask gotta tell him about it. I will also have to get him to sign up for the other forums so he can do some typing instead of me. I read all the post to him but he needs to speak with others on a more personal level also.....

Ok, you talk Straydog into watching Season 1, and at the rate she says she watches tv, I should be done with my paperwork (would you believe I am still doing my taxes - don't worry, I filed an extension, but it takes me forever!) and then she can send them to me! BTW you don't happen to have Season 2, do you? ;-) I don't even know what season they're on now. Maybe straydog can tape the latest ones for us both! LOL We'll get her hooked that way! We'll turn her! :-)

I still don't buy that going back to work is the recommended "treatment" after taking meds for chest pains! (Hint!)

yeah  LOL  we will convert straydog.  I only have season 1 wish I had season 2 maybe I will get it so I can take up sometime the first week i'm off work.  idea

I have been reading so much I'm shocked my eyes can still focus.  I have found so many books on the subjects we love so much  smilewinkgrin    Which reminds me I have to google some more books and order them  turn

about chest pain I'm just a pain in the butt when it comes to working.  I hate leaving something undone regardless of how I feel  yeah

Hi Laurie, you're definately in the "way too responsible" camp as far as work goes. I feel the same I can be in so much pain and I still go in to work but NOT after heart Pains!!! I totally agree with PAlady that is NOT a reccomended treatment plan. My local doc reckons I suffer from guilt if I don't finish something, are you in the same boat?

As for vampire movies, I watched New Moon on DVD with my son the other night as he wanted to refresh his memory before seeing Eclipse at the movies. All that sexual tension and rippling muscles, does that go on in all vampire flicks? It was very easy on the eye and very lightweight on the brain but I'm sure its not a typical vamp movie. Are they more horror or thriller based?

I also wanted to say welcome back, I'm sorry to hear your husband is having such a hard time and you're being layed off. Can't be an easy time for you? But lovely to read your posts again, I think we've been dying for a bit of vamp humour to come back into our lives, golitho

Yes I will admit it was a stupid move to go back to work on the days I feel like crap......

Golitho if you think theres sexual tension in new moon then you gotta watch True Blood but not with the kids nono    Then you will know ALOT of sexual undertones.. yeah

Being laid off can't come soon enough.  I work in a warehouse and sit at a computer with no air conditioning and its getting pretty hot in there lately.  I sit at my desk and sweat just drips off me.  Its so not healthy for me.  I can't drink water do to the heart condition but HAVE to drink due to the kidney issues.  So I'm in trouble either way.  Its my third summer in there and this one seems to be the worst.  Same temps but I think my condition has just progressed that it seems intense now....  100+ degrees SUCK!
