I've just finished my 4th week of physical therapy again and I have made a 40 degree improvement when the therapist measured my arm movement. Yeah me! While this is a great step it has caused a lot more pain. I've been terribly miserable since my therapy on Fri. and even with the patch on the break through meds aren't helping much. I only have one more visit until I see the doctor about the possible spinal unit. Anyway, I just wanted to wish each of you a wonderful 4th of July and hope that you have a good day. Nurse2 I find this to be a positive thing for you and I am so happy for you. Perhaps over time the more movement you can get the better. I am sorry the pain is so high still. Now, if you can get that pain level down somewhat that would be wonderful. Have a great 4th.

Sounds like the title of your thread is very appropriate. I'm glad you're getting more movement but sorry that your meds aren't helping much with the pain.

Hey nurse2 , yeah it is a bummer when progress means pain ? Hopefully its a temporary situation for you , I hope you get your spinal unit , if thats what you want . Why can't there just be a pill for every condition ? No surgery , no risk just relief ,good luck friend . Mikel

Hi nurse2,

Congratulations! Wow! A 40 degree improvement is fantastic! Are you doing PT on land or in the water? After my 3rd shoulder surgery I started my PT with aqua therapy & I really liked it. It was much more gentle, yet it did the job of increasing my ROM. I wish I had started off that way with my 2 previous surgeries, but the PT places that I went to prior didn't have that option.

I agree with the others, congrats on getting motion back, that is a good thing, but sorry your in pain from it...
Maybe as you get more motion the pain will get better...sometimes it's easy to get stuck in a rut, but keep up with
the PT and will hope the pain eases up soon...
