Hi, Frances,
I noticed your post on another thread about the "meltdown" at your PM's office, and I think it's all very understandable considering the stress you're under. Sounds like the best thing may be to drop a note to him/her and explain how all the stress is affecting you, and you hope he/she can understand that you really do need your medications.

The wait with the job, the foreclosure, no A/C added to the problems with your PM's office - well, you know anyone of those alone is stress enough, but piled on eachother? Too much for pretty much anyone, especially those of us having to deal with things alone.

I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you, and offer some extra support during this rough patch. Anyone else who wants to add some support for Frances is more than welcome to add to this thread!

PaLady... that was nice of you to start this thread :) I thought the same thoughts after reading her post..

Frances - thoughts and prayers going your way... I hope this rough patch of life quickly blows over and you can back to feeling better and such.

Re: what happened at your PM doc - I could be wrong, but it's sounds like you've always had a pretty good relationship w/ your doctor. Are you worried about things w/ him, or is he apt to understand the stress your are under and such? Trust me, I've had meltdowns before, too.... sometimes, it just all boils over :(

Anyway, just thinking about you and hoping your stress eases soon, Frances.

Frances, I'm so sorry that you're going through so much. Why did your doctor just take away your pain medications like that? Aren't they suppose to wean you if you have to go off of them?

I hope that things get better soon. It's ashame when we feel like we can't trust our doctors, since they are the ones who should be caring for us.

Sometimes people really let us down...thank God that there are others to bring us up.

 I would like to say, as well, that we have all had our meltdowns. Sometimes life gets to be so much that we are sure we cannot take one more thing, especially when we are in pain. We are all here for you, just take care of you. Your dr. is bound to understand if you just explain how rough it has been. Take care Heather

I wish you lived closer I'd say just come and stay here for awhile, even though you'd have to sleep on a pretty old couch, and deal with a house that's falling apart because I can't afford to make the needed repairs. The one thing I did right was at least pay off the mortgage or I'd be out on the street, too. Or likely in a room some relative loaned me for awhile.

So I'm not in your shoes completely, but close, and I think I get it. I've been there, and in some ways still am, in a pretty desperate place, and have found I've had to sort of beg for help from a few relatives. A couple of stepped up to the plate, or I wouldn't be hanging on. Do you have anyone you can stay with, lean on for awhile? You may have to actually ask someone outright for help, and oh, I know how hard that is when one has been independent. But that job still may be a possibility for you - don't give up on that.

Seriously - is there anyone you can lean on - even someone you'd prefer not to ask, but maybe you're at the point you just have to? A relative, a friend?

p.s. I hope I'm not intruding or causing you more discomfort by posting this. Please let me know if I am and I'll delete this! I just know how tough it is, and that so much of what you're going through is from some beyond "bad luck" with this economy and the housing market. You've worked so hard and are so close with this new potential opportunity.....just know I'm thinking of you and in your corner!

You didn't say anything to bother me. I'm just really drained right now. I did hear back from PM & he said he will give me some Actiq tomorrow morning & we're gonna try the new Onsolis.

I was told the job was a done deal & just dependent on a background check. Then they tell me they need to run a credit check & motor vehicle record check & & & ... pretty much everything but rights to my future children. The hiring manager agreed not to require me to go to the conferences, but now everything's tied up with these stupid HR things. Starting 1 Jan 2011 we will have a law in IL saying that pre-employment credit checks are illegal except for financial services industry. And no one drives at all in the entire company as part of their job, so I really can't figure that one out. Sadly, none of that helps me out right now.
So I've been in limbo for several weeks now waiting for all this checking stuff to get wrapped up & am still working as a temp in the meanwhile. They did say I am their final candidate but that doesn't do me any good. No one will rent to you unless you have an offer letter (well, there's probably a few shady places). So I don't know what I'm going to do.
I'm just so overwhelmed with everything. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Well, the misery continues. I went to pick up a script today. It was for 3 days b/c supposedly I was gonna get the Onsolis within 3 days. Well, of course I have the worse curse on me b/c the registration people have a huge backlog & didn't even get my information in their computers today. So I'm definitely not getting it within 3 days. So I will be out of meds on Saturday (again) & who knows what happens after that. I've already told them I'm not coming to work on Monday b/c I just can't stand this anymore.

I took a Toradol last night just to be able to sleep b/c I can't get any rest in this much pain. I had a huge project at work today & needed to focus so I took a couple doses of my medicine during the day -- little did I know that that was going to mean none for tonight. I tell ya, I just can't catch a break.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother trying to get up & out of bed in the morning.

They have to ship it. So far, not only do they not have me in their system, they haven't completed the DEA mandated patient interview & don't have approval from my insurance. Idiots! I don't normally complain too much about drug reps but I'd like to that the lady who promised I didn't need more than 3 days worth of meds out back & shoot her. There is a special DEA policy for Onsolis that it can only be dispensed by an approved mail-order pharmacy. So it's not like I can just walk down the street & pick it up. They have to send it to my house. So the very best case scenario is delivery Monday by noon.

PM says I can come get another script for some more of my usual meds, but honestly he is 90 minutes each way. How the heck am I supposed to drive that 2 days in a row? I can barely move as is.

You rant Francis, you need to get it out! Can't your PM ring a pharmacy or fax a script? I know my local pharmacy will give me scripts from a phone call from my doctor if I physically drop the script to her later. But I live in Australia its probably tighter regulations over there?
I wish I could make the drive for you, is there anyone who could pick up the script for you?
I'm trying to help I know you've probably thought of all these permutations at this stage?

Unfortunately, hard core pain medicines and a few other types of meds have special restrictions from the US Drug Enforcement Agency & state DEA's. These meds can only be filled with a physical script.

It is a huge pain to have to drive back & forth multiple times a week. I will try to see if I can get someone else to pick up the script, but because of privacy laws usually there must be a previously signed release on file with the doctor. I don't know why since a fax or copy is just as legal as a wet signature, but many places won't take a faxed release. I'm going to check, though. omg, when am I gonna catch a break?!!!

Frances I wish there was something more that could be done to help you out. I cannot believe your driving records, omg, yes they will want some sort of right to your future children I am sure. The credit check thing needs to be trashed as well. Come on, how many people are unemployed in this country and their credit is in the toilet. they have lost homes and cars and these are people with excellent credit. This is just not right. You already know this.

Keep your head up the best you can and hopefully you will get some medicine soon. Hugs, Susie

Wow. That's terrible Frances. Will your doctor give you a normal thirty day scrip this time? I can't believe that they don't think you're tolerant? That makes no sense to me.
