Home at Last !! Thanks Friends !

  Hi everyone !! well I'm back home stage one almost done , I have to go back on Monday to get the staples removed and I am sore as all get out but happy to be home for sure !!!! It was frightening I must say but Jessica was teriffic , I felt like a little lion cub with a Mother Lioness there looking out for me, she took no shorts from anyone . The surgeon though very skilled was arrogant and insecure for some reason , but she wouldn't hear of it and she kept him there until he answered each of her questions to her satisfaction.The morning of surgery and right after I had Jess and Lisa on either side of the bed holding my hand  , it made ALL the difference in the world and Jess has been there for every important moment since , she's an angel !!!Thanks so much to all who checked in on me and cared your my most wonderful family , special thank you to my sister Stace who it was wonderful to talk on the phone to and Sweet Tina who's going thru so much on her own but alwayws found time to care , your all amazing !!! Now its about allowing myself to heal  , step by step .I'll catch up with each of you individually in the coming days , I'm still somewhat out of it . Again A Whole Lotta Love to You All !!! Mikel

Hi Mikel. I am so happy that you are finally home. That must feel like quite a relief. I am sorry though that things were so rough for you in the hospital. That sounds like it wasn't good at all but you were very fortunate to have a person there to fight and advocate for you. But hey that's behind you now and you are on the upswing towards healing. If you ever need us we'll be here to help cheer you on every step of the way. You've cheer on so many of us it will be an honor to return the favor. Take care, Lisa

So glad your back home again! As you can see, you are so loved by your fams here at H.,W. everyone missed yo so! I guess the next step will be P.T. for you. I sure hope you get a good one and one w/o a Marine drill Sargent mentality!!! Take it easy as long as you can because I'm sure they will start beating you up soon!

Sounds like you had some specialm care there at the hospital w/ you! Who are Jess & Lisa? Good friends of yours? They sure seem like it!

Hey Mikel your back and on the mend! whoop whoop!!! Take Care and get better soon!!

Mikel slow and steady now that you are home. Its always better being home in our own environment. Let your body heal from all the trauma from surgery, nothing has to be rushed. Follow your post-op instructions to the letter and you should do fine. If you were given home exercises to do, do them they are very important. It will be interesting to see if your dr orders any PT. My friend did not have to do PT and neither did my brother. Neither were hurting and their drs said if I send you to PT then you will be hurting from some therapists pulling on you. Both did great without it. They just did the home exercises. Take care.

Hey Mikel, sorry I am late welcoming you back. I am kind of having a pity party for myself. So happy that you are home, sounds like this was a tough one. I had a feeling it was going to be. Having your hip replaced is no walk in the park I am sure! I hope you recover quickly, please keep us posted as you know we all care about you so much! Love you lots and take care!

I wanted to check in with you here on this Labor day weekend. I know what recovery can be like from a major surgery like yours, and it can become lonely at times.

Lets hope you have a good Tv there, to help you occupy your time in between naps.

Are you still juicing? I still have as yet, to get one of those machines, but hope to one of these days. Is you're brother there with you to help?

Please take it easy, and allow yourself time to heal properly.....you worked so hard to get to this point. Your days and nights will get better with time. The nights were the worst for me, and I feared it greatly

Maybe we will see you on chat this next week...but only of you feel up to it!

It all just takes time...so don't rush anything. You know we have saved you're spot here on HW....and we promise we will keep you're throne waxed and polished!

Hi again Mikel. I hope you are feeling better today than the day before. The healing should come faster now that you are out of that hospital. It is ironic but it seems the hospital is the worst place around to get better in. Um, I was hoping sometime when you feel up to it if you can tell us a bit more about your time in the hospital. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm being nosy but you were there for a lot longer than anyone expected so am wondering what the heck happened while you were there. If you would rather not tell because it is something you would rather forget then please don't worry about it. Be well and remember to breath. It will help ease the pain. Lisa

Hey Michael well it seems to be goin ok , theres still some leakage but the position of the incision is such that any move effects it so I'm gonna call them today just to check in . Hey Geckogirl , I think I miss interpeted or misunderstood from what everyone has told me 2 weeks is really minimum and I got out in 12 days so I'm not sure but I had special circumstances for sure , like HIV+ AND HEP-C . I'll let you know if I found out anything and your not being nosy you can ask me anything .Thanks Deb your a Sweetheart , big hugs back at ya !!!
