Dear Mindy,
I am so sorry to hear that your fiancé has been let go. I can well imagine it is very stressful. The job market being fickle at best cannot be of much help either. My only suggestion would be some smaller things..
- Enroll in your local job fair. That way you get notifications when and where they will be.
- Find out about COBRA. Low income insurance provided by the state.
- See if there is low cost technical vocation school or community vocation institute so that he can get up to date on skills set and learn more diverse area of mechanics. They have low cost fees for low income. (If he is training while out of work it would look good on his resume)
- Phone companies and utilities providers have low income bill reduction plan. It might be something to look into as well. Every little bit will help as fall and cold weather moves in.
Most of all please don't blame yourself. If there was something you could do I know you would! It isn't your fault. If you were working, you would likely be causing accelerated damage to your body. That would only make things much worse for your family in the long run.
I hope you are able to get everything ready in time. I am so terribly sorry you are getting hit with this. Please know you and your family are in our hearts and prayers.
*hugg*
