When you say you are having the injection to see if it is the hip that is causing you the pain, is this injection a diagnostic injection, as part of having an arthrogram so they can see what is going on with your hip joint? Or is this a steroid injection into the hip joint to see if it relieves your pain? Personally I found that either injection not to be that terrriby bad, they give the injection through the groin area, and by using fluoroscopy they guide the needle to the desired location and inject the dye or steroid or what ever they are injecting into the hip joint usually they also inject lidocaine along with it to relieve the pain, if the pain is relieve that is a good diagnostic indicator that the hip might just be the problem for your pain. Ask your Doctor to explain it all to you! I do wish you well with your pending injection, and hope it all works out for the best for you!
