So, your kadian is your long term med that is is not working very well, and the Roxicodone is your BT med. As I understand it. Then what you need is a new long term med, and I'm guessing that Oxycontin will not be well suited for you since it had oxycodone in it., and this is what elevated your Liver.
So, I'm wondering if MScontin would be a better long term med for you. You would think that they would at least try another med for your long term relief, especially if they believe that your on way too much Kadian. I see that they do come in 100mg capsules, and that you are taking two of them a day. Do you break yours apart and sprinkle on your food or take them whole? I read where a person can sprinkle it on apple sauce and swallow it, as your not supposed to chew it. Have you tried this?
Of course, I'm just grasping at straws here, because I feel so badly for you. Anyone with back problems, understands full well how debilitating it can be.
I saw that you answered me at 3:42am this morning, so I know your suffering quite heavily. Also, do you keep a pain journal? .....and if so, maybe you can take it with you on your next appt to share with them.
Please keep searching, as there should be no reason for you to have to suffer this way, especially if it can be handled with meds.
I took my wife with me, on the last appointment, and I think it helps. I think you told me the last time you came to Wichita, you brought you're husband with you. Was he in the room with you, when you saw the PM?
My wife, saw first hand the fear these Dr have of the government crackdown around here. I think the PM you are seeing is very well known around this part of the country, and is getting a lot of unwanted attention.
You may want to see if you're PCD will be willing to take over your pain management or at least suggest a new one if your not getting any positive results with the current one.
I would be willing to even suggest my PCD, but with the seriousness of your condition, I would be willing to bet that he will refer you to a PM, but not the one you are currently seeing.
Take care, and I will be thinking of you. And my offer still stands....if you are in the Wichita area again, we would love to meet you and your husband. We can meet for lunch, and like I said our treat!
Privey and her Husband have been here several times, and we hope to fly to Canada sometime next year to visit tmjpain and her husband Red. A real swell couple!
My wife and I just inherited a 36' Winnebago motor-home from her fathers estate, and I would love to travel the country to meet several of the CP members. The thing looks like one of those big touring buses. However, we just can't afford it, and I have a few years to go until retirement. So right now, were in the process of selling it.
My PCD wants me to retire as soon as possible, and we are working on that plan as fast as I can, but I'm afraid age rules the game with that. Looks like I have another five years to go, at least :(
I never thought in all my life that I would wind up in this condition, and I'm not very happy about
it. Not much I can do, other than to take care of the rest of my body, and hope for the best.
Are you, or you're husband close to retirement? I was always told, you never want to wish you're life away, but these days, I wish I was closer to retirement, while I have a few moving parts left.
Again, take care, and do please keep us informed on what takes place with you're next appointment.
Your Kansas friend,
