Wife's tonsils out> No Cancer!!!

Just got home from a long day at the hospital. The doc came out after the surgery and said> "No cancer, just yucky tonsils" YIPEEEEE! I have to say, I was terrified that she had something really bad down there especially after reading the preopp paperwork! Stuff my wife didn't tell me.

We just got home and she is very sore and tired so I tucked her in and am doing my best to keep all the animals away from her while she sleeps! I filled the freezer w/ popcickles, serbe and icecream yesterday but I think it's ice chips and maybe some gatoraid later.

I know this is off topic but I am so happy I just had to share it w/ my "Other Family"!!!!!

What fantastic news - I am SO happy for you and your wife!! When we are worried about someone we love and then we find out that everything is actually ok, there is no better feeling in the world!

Praise the Lord Petey!!! That is wonderful news!!!

Remember, lots of fluids, water is good for today and her pain meds every four hours for at least the next 24 hrs.

Wonderful news Pete!!!

If I could make a suggestion to make sure you really dilute the Gatorade...I learned this from my Dr. after being very sick with stomach flu..it has way too much sugar in there which can make your stomach very upset after a surgery/anesthesia....So almost 3/4 water..and then some gatorade mixed...

Hope she is feeling better soon..I'm sure you will take great care of her:)

I am very happy to hear a positive outcome!!! I didn't realize there was the possibility of cancer or something else going on, so this is extra relief then.

I know you're treating her like a Queen, so I hope she's feeling better soon.

Oh Pete, what wonderful news!!! You are such a caring person and it's obvious you are so in love with that lucky wife of yours! What a blessing to read this tonight. Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!! for sharing such an intimate part of your life with all of us and may your lovely wife have the best of recoveries!

Pete, that's really good news...but having your tonsils out as a adult is very painful,
make sure to take good care of her and that she rest up for a day or two...
also stock up on mashed potatos as it's the only thing that won't hurt to badly..
but I'm so glad it's not cancer...

Thank You <> Thank You <> Thank You!!! I am so happy I could do a dance!!! She has been there for me so many times! Sitting in that waiting room while I'm going under the knife! Well the shoe was on the other foot this time and I hated it!!! All kinds of awful things were racing through my head sitting there watching the clock> Tic~Toc!!
I'm just too tired to thank Y'all individually tonight, I'm so tired! I'm headed for bed now but wanted to say thanks for all the kind words, suggestions and support!!!

Wonderful news Pete, my dear friend. I had no idea she was facing this. Take good care of her and encourage her to take her pain meds every four hours. It hurts, I know. I had mine out when my girls were little ones. It was rough going for a while. Make her rest for sure.

Whats next? My freezer broke last night and all the ice, popcickles, icream and sorbe melted! I called around early this a.m. and found someone who is here now fixing it. He says it's either a realay> @ $130. or the compressor which he doesn't evan want to talk about yet! Lots of $$$ Wish me luck!!

     Good morning! *warm hugg* How are you holding up? I know you must have been (still are) worried to no end for Miss L. I sure do hope she is able to rest up and heal quickly. I am so glad to hear the news about her surgery. I must admit I was very worried especially when the doctors were wanting to compare previous x rays. Thank goodness she made it through the surgery without complication.

 

    Wow, the freezer has terrible timing. Either problem will cost a lot of fix I sure hope you are able to get it fixed quickly. I am sorry to hear you lost everything that was in the freezer too. Sounds like you will have your hands full between Miss L, the  freezer and replacing everything.

 

    Please know you and miss L are in our prayers. We think of you two often.

well I hope you can get it fixed without it costing a lot,,,sometimes it's better just
to buy a new one as the costs of fixing it is so high in price...and let me tell ya
thats so true about the mircowaves, it's more cost effective to buy new...
anyways I hope it's fixed soon...just makes sure to have plenty of cold water
and mashed potatos, it was al, I could eat after my tonsils were removed...
I had mine removed when I was in my 30's and it hurt for weeks and cold
water, mashed potatos and liquid pain med, (sorry I don't know the spellin my bad)
was all I could get down for a week...

Well Da fix-it man charged me $129.17 for parts (a new relay) & labor. He said it would take 24 hrs to get back up to speed but it seems to be cooling well and freezing water in the freezer.
I haven't transfered everything back out of the coolers yet, maybe tonight! I got back from the pain doc about an hour ago and saw water on the floor in the kitchen> What now? Oh dumb old me forgot to put the plug in one of the coolers! Not too bad, mopped it up w/o evan waking the recovering spousal unit!
She is doing much better! Eating lots of jello a friend of hers brought over. Sleeping a lort too. She says she is getting head aches from the pain meds when they ware off evan though they contain tylonol! Don't know how to help her w/ that other than to gently rup her temples???
Thanks again for all the well wisshes, hugs & prayers!! I read her all your posts and she was very gratefull to Y'all!!!
All fer now. Gotz stuffs to do!!

Hey Pete..another quick suggestion for the headaches is to make sure she is drinking tons of water...anytime after surgery...we can get so dehydrated...as well as adding in the pain meds that she is not used to which are also 'drying'...

So at least 8 to 10 glasses a day of just water might help...

Glad to hear the surgery went fine with no cancer involved. I do know it can be a very dangerous surgery for an adult and a very painful recuperation. If her tonsils were in that bad of shape if she was being bothered with recurrent infections those rotten tonsils could have been the culprit. My sister had hers out in her early 30's and she had a terrible time for while after surgery, mainly due to pain.

Keep her hydrated and plenty of popcicles on hand. Take good care of her.

I'm so glad things worked out for you and your wife Pete.  You guys seem to make such a great couple and you must both be relieved to find out things are going to be OK (when she gets to feeling better).
