Hi...finaly decided to leave a post.  I found y'all a week or so ago and y'all seem like such a caring, loving, compassionate group.  I have fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, 4 bulging disc, bone spurs thewhole length of the spine.  Had a spinal fusion almost 2 years ago on l5s1...was a surgery and recovery from h***.  I never recovered and the pain has just worsened.  I now walk with the aid of a cane .  I found a new pm doc and a new family doc all in the last month.  I think they have both been an answer to my prayers.  The pm dr found out that all my nerve roots that control the pain and usage of my right side are dead.  He is the first time I had ever heardof a neurostimulator.  I had the trial put in last wed and removed that fri...it did help some.  I am just so tiredof being able to do nothing but lay in bed in pain all the time.  Dont think mentally I am handling it very well lately.  They are gonna put in the permanent one this Fri.  It is nice to know there is a place like this where people understandwhat I am feeling and understand my pain.  My prayers are with you all and please say a prayer for me tis Friday.  It will be good to get to know you all.  Thank you all for listening to me!

It's nice to have you sweetpea! You have come to a loving, caring enviroment and I hope you have nothing but positive experiences here. Please post all you want too and know that you are one of us now! Take care and I hope your pain levels are at their lowest very soon.

Welcome to Healing Well Chronic Pain Forum. First thing I want to tell you is YES I will say a prayer for you for you for your surgery this Friday! And I do hope every thing works out for you and the stimulator helps you!! At least little anyway!  Because when you have chronic pain every little bit helps!  I am sorry for everything you are going through and the pain you have, but with that said, I am extremely glad you have come to this site and joined this forum!  Lindaloo told you right, I totally agree that this site has some of the most caring people that you will find any where on the internet! The folks here are not just caring, but also compassionate, and we are always ready to lend you our ears and listen to you! We might not be able to cure you, but you can always  share  your frustrations and pain, with us, and hopefully by sharing,  maybe,.... just maybe, we can help lighten that burden  that one always carries from having chronic pain! You  are nolonger alone with your pain, at least not when your here on this forum,  You now have friends, that can empathize with you, and share in your hopes and frustrations and pain!  Hopefully you will stick around and post and share, and be a member of our Chronic Pain family.

 

Again Sweetpea, I Welcome you! and I wish you well! And Good Luck on that permanent insertion of the stimulator on Friday!

Welcome, this is a good forum with a whole lot of nice people...
and I will say prayers for you in hopes things go good and
that the doctor can get this implanted good...we'll all be rooting for you on Friday.
So keep us posted when you can...

Hi SweetPea and I too would like to welcome you to Healing Wells's chronic pain forum. I am glad that you took the big step and decided to post.That seems to be the hardest part in the beginning for some of us. I remember when I first found HW and I just did not know where to begin in writing a post, mainly because I knwe no one and it just felt funny putting it out there so to speak, lol.

I do hate hearing that your surgery was of no help, that does happen to many people. But, it sounds like you may be on the right track with a new PM dr and a new PCP. Oh, I do hope these new drs work out for you. It is so hard not being well and then not having good drs taking care of you is just too much at times. Many of us here have been there and done that too. I do hope the SCS will give you the relief you are looking for. We have a search here at the top of the page and you can type in SCS unit and find lots of information from previous posts made by members here that have the SCS units. Also, when you are feeling up to it, you may want to check out the Fibro board here at HW. They also have a great group of people over there too. I post on several of the forums here.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing and again, welcome aboard.

Sweetpea, Welcome to the forum. I am so sorry when another person hurts and has to seek us out! There are so many people in pain! However, you will soon find out that you came to the right place if you are looking for kind and caring people who really understand you and your pain! I look forward to talking to you more....but as CP people all know...we have ok days and bad days and unfortunately I am in a bad one! I need to lay back down but wanted to welcome you! Take care!
