I don't often post on this forum though I do suffer with chronic pain. I received notice of the following article and thought it might be of interest to many here. I reside in Washington State and was NOT aware of the information supplied in paragraph 6 about a new law coming here mid-2011.

Figures don't lie, but liars figure. Of course a patient in pain bad enough to need opioids is more likely to be hospitalized. It sounds like the insurance companies, who designed the tests, don't want to give arthritis patients opioids.

To whom do we non-cancer patients complain about this type of thinking?

Hi Ides...

Sort of looks as if we're going to get the giant screw soon. I'm up near the limit and I've been voluntarily lowing my intake....it was MY idea, not my doctors. I've not heard anything of this either. Guess I best ask him about it when I see him on Tuesday.

Oh this is such crap! I don't know where they are getting their figures, but I think they are making this up as they go huh? US non-cancerous pain patients are usually undermedicated. My Pain clinic won't even try to change up my opiads unless I become allergic or have some other problem that is because of the meds.

Come on people.....we are getting the royal screw again!

This crap really scares me. I wish all these people had to walk in our shoes just one day. They would be willing to stop all this crap and think twice about not prescribing us what we need. Thanks for the info ides.
