Good morning NiNi53!
I thought a little more about
your question of running out of med's too early, and offer this suggestion to you. Most insurance company's will fill you're script
within 48hrs of the last refill date.
However; this will take some planning on you're part and you will need to call in the script
into you're PCD a few days in advance so that you can hand carry it to your Pharmacy. Some Dr's just won't do this for you, but then again some will. I myself always call three days in advance, just in case the Dr is out of the office on my refill date. Usually the PCD office will have the script
ready to pick up the following day, and I promptly have it filled. I don't always do it this way, but have on more than one occasion. By all means, do call in your script
in early, but it will then be up to you when you have it filled.
This gives me a two day advance and I then have enough just in case the DR is out of the office or is late getting my script
signed the next time. It can be a comfort knowing that you have a couple of extra days of backup med's. I wouldn't necessarily practice this every time as it may alert
your PCD and then your intentions might be questioned for doing so.
As straydog suggested, please do be careful about
running out all the time and calling in because of it. It really does sound like you need an adjustment here soon. It is no fun running out of pain med's and that in it's self, can add extra stress to an already difficult situation for you.
Take care,
SE
