Howdie all,
I've posted a few times regarding my need to find a stronger time-release med than ultram. It just isn't managing my pain adequately any longer.
But, I'm worried about jumping up to a stronger option. So, I found a clinical trial for time-release hydrocodone. I contacted the researchers, went through an initial phone interview, and now have an appointment for a standard physical, blood panel, etc..
Next week I see my PM and will, of course, clear this with him. Since I find hydrocodone helpful but doesn't interfere with concentration as much as oxycodone, it seems like a suitable time-release option for me. However, it is a double-blind study and so I might get the placebo... but I'll take the chance. If I'm in more pain, I can just leave the study and move to what my PM recommends.
Has anyone here been part of a similar clinical trial? Any advice?
Thanks.
p.s. such a bad pain day today! I have so much work to do but the pain is too severe for me to concentrate. I'm glad to have this forum as an outlet and a means to distract myself on bad days.
