scared

Hi everyone. I didn't really know what the catscan was looking for when my dr. asked me to have it done. She just said they found something on the MRI of my not lumbar but my middle back. (can't think of what it's called right now). The nurse called today as the dr. was in the office yesterday. Well, I got a shock. She told me there's a mass on my left lobe of my lung. Shocked the heck out of me and I'm so scared. I've had a cyst in my liver for several years and they drew the fluid off of it and it's fine, but this is really scaring me. She wants me to see a pulmonary dr. I'm really scared. I called the place that I had the catscan and MRIs and asked for reports. The lady said sure. So, I'm getting them in the mail. I called and got them because it's the first MRI i've had of my lumbar spine and the nurse said there were changes there, and I want to see what the changes are. That doesn't worry me anything like the mass on my lung. I just don't know. I've never faced anything like this in my life. The what ifs are getting me right now. that's why i'm writing here. I'm a nervous wreck. I'm getting ready to go take one of my anxiety meds, and see if I can calm down some. I hope the dr. is on my insurance plan, because when we moved last Sept. I misplaced my insurance book, so i have to call and get another one sent to me. I'm so glad you're all here. I have my husband, but it helps to have others too. What am I gonna do if it's cancer. My father smoked around us the whole time we were growing up. That second hand smoke.

I also asked the nurse about my patches. She said the script is up front with the receptionist. i asked her to be sure to get her to put it in the mail asap. So I should be getting that in the next day or two. Hopefuly tomorrow.

I am so sorry to hear this new diagnosis for you. Try to calm down and breathe in thru your nose and out thru your mouth. Both of my parents smoked when I was growing up to. I always wondered about second hand smoke myself. Try to hang in there, if you have any questions write them on a piece of paper so you dont forget. We are all here for support for you. I will pray for you that you will find the strength to get you thru. Be strong and we will support you all the time. Keep us updated on your health and post when you feel up to it.

Hi Loretta. I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I have had masses before (long stories), and surgeries for them. One they were SURE (99%) was cancer until they removed it. It was not...but, I know the fear. It can consume you. Please know that I will be thinking of you and praying for you.

I had a mass found on my right lower lobe during a ct scan for GI issues. I too was exposed to second hand smoke growing up and worried myself senseless. My options were wait and recheck it every 3 months or biopsy it. Since it was in a bad location to do a needle biopsy they would have to go in to get the sample, so I opted to just remove it. Turned out to be a fungal growth from me living by rivers and caused from mold spores. It was the size of a marble when the found it and had grown to walnut size 2 weeks later when they removed it. Thankfully it was benign. Hope yours is too.
That surgery is what started my CP due to nerve damage from the scope through my back.

I just wanted to reply and send you my support and some (((HUGS)))). I hope it ends up being benign. Please keep us updated on when you're having more tests, and when you find out more.
