Hello Lasrado!
I cannot tell you how many times we have heard this same complaint from several of our members.
If I understan you correctly, you're Dr has not reduced the pain med's yet, but has stated that he intends too...and this is based on the recent hysterectomy.
As I read through your Post here, your fear is that he will follow through with out listening and taking into account that you are indeed still in quite a bit of pain.
One thing you might try, is to keep a Pain Journal and take it with you to you're next appointment. The fact that he seems very stubborn to you, might indicate that no matter what you present him with, he is set in his ways.
If that is the case, and he insist on reducing your pain med's while your still suffering, then I'm afraid I would be seeking another PM in the near future. Many of the members here, have advised others with similar situations, to be honest with your PM and not tip toe around the issue, and then ask him what he can do for your pain. If he then refuses to treat you properly, then by all means seek another PM.
Now he may surprise you, because I'm guessing that at this time, he has no clue that the hysterectomy was not successful in reducing you're pain, or did I misunderstand you? Nobody knows your pain better than you, not even you're PM! Don't ever let another tell you what you're pain level is. That would be totally senseless.
Just be forthright and honest with him, and tell him you are still in pain, and give him a rating from 1-10. Let him suggest the course of action. Also, by all means take a family member with you who is familiar with your daily struggle with the pain issues you're having.
Good luck to you, and please do keep us updated. (Note) It appears that you double posted this Topic, so I deleted the second copy of it for you. Its a common mistake.
