Hi!

Some of you may remember me, most probably not. I looked at who has posted and most are names I don't know. (Hi Chutz! Shelly!)

When I was just dealing with a ruptured and fused L4-L5-S1, the nerve pain from it, and muscle spams and such. My fusion in 2003 made things worse from the scar tissue and stuff.

Life for me has been interesting. I slowed posting in 2007, and stopped (I think) in 2009 after losing our baby 22 weeks through the pregnancy. Since I slowed posting in 2007 I have had major changes. I was 297 pounds then, and had gastric bypass surgery in December 2007 - after many doctors said "lose weight you'll feel better". In April 2008 I had an increase of pain, and found out that even 100 pounds down I had ruptured 2 more discs (they are fairly sure but I guess the metal back there screw with the images). In 2009 I weighed 145lbs and after 9 years of trying we managed to get pregnant. I had the full support of a pain doctor, family doctor, OB and high risk OB. In May 2009 I ended up having emergency stomach surgery to repair an internal bowel hernia (while still pregnant) - our baby made it through like a champ. On June 30th our house caught fire, and on July 4th we lost or baby 22 weeks through the pregnancy, we found out that on top of all else I had an incompetent cervix. Life sucked. We also found out I had lost my L1-L3 disc so my L1-S1 was screwed.

Things turned around and I am now mommy to a beautiful 11 month old. My back still sucks, but God has blessed me with my daughter and she makes me get out of bed each day no matter how much pain I'm in.

I have missed the support here, but been too busy to get on here, then forgot the website, and just found it.

I look forward to seeing old faces, and getting to know new people here, as well as offering the help that I can to all.

Hi Tammy. I'm Loretta. I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby. I lost our daughter at 20 weeks pregnancy, so I know the extreme pain in the heart that it is. Congratulations on the birth of your little girl though. I'm so happy that things turned around for you. Unfortunately, i've lost our other three too, but this isn't about me.

It's hard hearing that you lost some discs in your back. That sounds very painful. My diagnosis are in my signature. You take care. It's good to meet you and I'm glad you found the forum again.

Hey Tammy!!

Someone emailed me and let me know there was an old friend posting again. Glad you are back.

I am both sad and happy for you but now that you have a daughter to love the sad seems to fade from immediate view. I'm not discounting the baby you lost... I lost a baby many years ago also.. but the pain does become less but never totally goes away. That said I know your loving daughter will bring you more joy than you ever imagined.

I'm headed for bed right now after a tiring week of babysitting grandkids every time I turned around. I my phone rings tomorrow I told hubby I'm throwing it out the window whether it's open or not! ;-P

I hope to see more of you here and I'm sure other old timers and newbies will enjoy getting to know you.

I am so sorry to hear that you lost a child, my heart goes out to you. But, congratulations on your little girl. That is great.

I started here in March 2011 and I am looking forward to getting to know you better.

Hello and Welcome Back,

I don't think we have met, but I felt compelled to send you a post.  I too lost several babies....but my one that survived is a wonderful 11 year old young lady now.  She is the brightness that lights up my day.

I am so happy that you have finally been blessed with this prescious baby.  I know the pain of loss and the time it takes to get over the worry of a new baby after so much heartache.  It gets easier....I promise!

I also have a really bad back and a failed fusion.  I don't think I could carry under these circumstances, so that makes you more of a hero mom to me!  I am honestly sorry for the back pain and how hard it makes it to take care of a little one.  We've found that I can sit in the recliner and have somebody hand me a baby or that I can have them crawl up in my lap (when they are older) and they seem to love that and to understand your restrictions even more than adults. 

I'll stop for now, but I wanted to welcome you back and to say how proud I am for you to have such a blessing!

       I too am another member who fails to remember meeting you. I joined in Sept. of 2009, so I may have just missed you back then.

          Like retiredmom, I also have had my share of back problems, so you're not alone in this category wink   My double lumbar fusion was done in March of last year, and I'm another sad story of FBS shakehead

      I bet you and hubby were, and still are, just tickled pink at the birth of you're baby girl tongue   "Gongratulations"

   Yes!.....many of the members you used to visit with here, probably have scattered away for some reason or another, but we have many new faces here, and I'm sure you will find the same warmth and support as when you were here last here.

Hi Tammy....

Welcome back.  Did you used to have a blog attached in your signature?  I joined around mid-08 and remember reading about the loss of your baby.  I'm very sorry for that loss.... and all the things you went through.  I remember feeling very empathetic to all you were going through!!

Congrats on your little girl and the good things that have happened.  Since then, I too, have had two little girls that are almost 8 months old.

Anyway, just wanted to welcome you back.... hope you'll keep posting.

Hi Tammy and welcome back to the forum. I do remember you from back then lol. I am so sorry to hear of all the difficulties you have been through in the past since leaving here but very delighted to hear about your baby girl.

on those, and congrats to on your daughter, seems like you got what you needed a wonderful child,
