Hi Snow, Kathy here, how fortunate you are to have the people in your life that you do.  And you seemed to absorb alot of what they say.  I really think thats great.

Yes I know if there is something new and horrible its absolutley necessary to go to your doctor.  But I wish I had people around me with that kind of knowledge and I am so glad you share you knowledge.

I also completely agree on the pharmacy issue.  As I said I have been with my pharmacist longer than any doctor I have been with.  She is a wonderful, compassionate person, I sometimes think you was a doctor in her native country and decided when she got to the States, pharmacy was the thing to do.  While I wait for my meds, every customer coming to the counter, she knows who they are and what they take.  I have often heard her tell a customer, sorry cant fill this is because it compromises what you are taking, then call the doc office and either find a different med, or just say no, cant fill this, she/he cant take this due to whatever the reason.

Thats what I call caring and knowing your patient.

Hi Kathy....I agree entirely with your statement. i thought it was amazing all of snows knowledge and that she was willing to share it with us.

Awww...you guys are SO sweet! I am truly blessed on the Dr.s I have now...I had to go through some awful one's to get here...but that's why I appreciate them so much more!..

My brother.(the one I grew up with)..who is 5 years older than me...We are extremely close...I would follow him around when I was younger..and he knows how to do so many things mechanically...And I would sit there as he was repairing cars when he was a teenarger and ask a thousand questions...So when I turned 16 and started to drive...I knew everything about my car...how everything works!..LOL..(My brother ended up being a Jet Mechanic in the Air Force for 20 years...5 years with the US Thunderbirds!!

So...my family and friends know me that once I find a subject that I'm interested in..I will study and learn every single thing I can about it:) As I mentioned..I am very luck that I have a patient Neurosurgeon and my PM to let me ask a billion questions so I can learn about my spine issues and pain.

Again..thank you so much for that cute shout out! LOL...

I think this whole board is filled with people who know different things and we can all learn from one another...As well as it's the best place to get care, concern, empathy, and virtual hugs (( ))

That is wonderful that you found great doctors, that is a big part of the entire problem.  I have been with my doctors who I like alot for just about 2 years and believe me I went through alot of frogs before I found this prince. 

So I know what you mean.  But the exception is your ability to take in that much information, meaning the mechanics etc.  I have always had the opposite problem, even as far back as elementary school, I didnt seem to be able to retain information.  I believe years later they called that ADHD, or something like that.  When I was in school seems like hundreds of years ago, it was called being a habitual problem. 

Anyway, we all appreciate your help and I for one have learned from it.  I now write things down so I can remember them and retain them, believe me it helps.  I put the book for the wedding (addresses etc.) in a safe place because we are moving, now I cant remember the safe place.  I definetly learned from that, its in here somewhere, I will find it.

Aww...Kathy...I'm sure that was hard going through school and not knowing what was going on...I actually did really well in some subjects (the one's I liked! LOL) but not in others...so I averaged out:)

I try to do things nowadays to keep my memory going like puzzles, watch Jeopardy every night with my mom (I'm living with her for now)...Ever since the advent of smarphones...all those things like Birthdays, phone numbers, etc. I am getting lazy about remembering because my phone will just 'ding' and let me know! LOL..

I'm sure you will find that book! The main thing is not stressing about it and it will pop into your memory eventually...
