workmans compensation hearing for stair chairlift

Hi Everyone

My lawyer and I went before a judge today to give him medical evidence why I needed a stair chairlift in my house.

Its all the matter of personel hygiene.  I would love to wash my hair everyday instead of every 4th day in the kitchen sink.  Just the thought of having hot water run over my back for 5 minutes would be heaven.  The judge looked at my swollen leg described what he saw so it is now in court records.

The judge gave 60 days instead of 90 days to get depositions from all the doctors.  Also I found out today that workmans comp doesnt think my knee issues were caused by my fall .  Boy, are they ever wrong!!!

The tibia got driven upward into my femur crushing my lower knee and now I need a total knee replacement. 

In 60 days I will find out if the court needs me to testify again.  I hope not.  It was very nerve wracking.  I was suffering brain fog today and I had a hard time following what my lawyer was asking me.  She said I did just fine. Also told me not to worry about anything.

We also asked about a caregiver to be paid by w?c.  When I get my knee replaced I will need somebody in the house with me.

That's Workmans Crap...err I mean Comp for you.

You could have your arm cut off in a machine at work in full view of 10 HD security cameras and they will question every last thing.

WC is about the only thing that gives most health insurance companies a good name.

Gotta go with Jim here, workmens comp is the worst group to try to get anything from.  I have been told they send spyes out to see if people are really hurt.

Of course thats just another example of the few hurting the majority.  In this case Besty, you are the majority.  You are someone who really needs these things for a good quality of life.

Well good luck, I dont hold out much hope with wc though, I pray I am wrong.

Thanks for replying. I know it will be difficult but the judge did ask me if I was receiving checks from w?c and I said yes and then he added any trouble getting them and I replied not now but at first there was difficulty. My judge was big and he was sweating and he kept wiping his face with a towel ....he reminded me of a big owl...lol

Just let those spies film me and they will see I need to walk with a cane or a walker. I went through it when my hubby got hurt at work and they sent a detective out to film him. They never caught him doing anything. Ha Ha

As you can see Im up early today with hip pain. I will be in contact with PM clinic today my doc is in today.
To much walking yesterday in the courthouse. I knew this would happen.

At least that one is over for you. I hope you get what you need to maintain a decent quality of life. Sounds like WC is terrible to deal with.
Try to get some rest and I hope you have a less painful day today.

Hi Betsey I also hope you get what you need. I certainly am glad I've never had to deal with WC. It's terrible that you have to practically beg for what you need. I hope you got a hold of your doctor and got an appointment and that you got some rest today. Take care.
