I'm sorry to complain again, but I'm hurting so bad that it's almost taking my breath away at times. cry I don't understand why it won't settle down. I'm so tired of being in so much pain.

I have to make an appointment with the neurosurgeon I saw before to interpret the MRIs that my pcp had done a couple of months ago. Straydog gave me a good idea to ask him if he knows of any pain management doctors that take Medicaid. That's a very good idea. I have gotten my insurance book out and looked pain management up, and couldn't find many that I hadn't already seen.

I've also went online to SpineUniverse and websites like that and found others, but just haven't took the time to call them. I'm having a hard time with procrastination, and i'm sick and tired of it.

I need to find the paperwork and cd so I can make an appointment with the pulmonary doctor to see what these masses are on my lung. I just keep putting it off shakehead

I also have a short memory and have a hard time remembering to make the phone calls. I'm so overwhelmed.

I gotta go. This is too long.

sounds like me .... all my doctor wants to do is keep me on meds instead of fixing my shoulder. I have had three knee replacements and now a shoulder and was in a coma for nine months. sadly now all i want to do is go and do things like I was able to do before 2007. but my shoulder is so painful that I cannot even hardly move around the house much less going out in the public. I stay so messed on pain pills now that i am hooked by now I guess. Just hang in there my friend and find someone to help you out of your sticky problems. find a new doctor in another town if you have to do so..keep looking

Loretta nearly every person here at this forum has trouble remembering things from time to time either from just feeling bad, medication adds to the mix or just too tired to remember.

Its real easy to tape a note to your computer to make any phone call you need to make. Also I am sure that your calendar on your computer can also send you daily reminders to make phone calls, drs appts that are scheduled and even paying your bills. I would be lost without the calendar on my computer, I use it for everything.

I am really surprised that your drs office has not been concerned that you have not made an appt with the dr over the masses you said they found on xrays. Most PCP's offices, on something like that would be all over the patient until it was taken care of. Mine sends a card and then the phone calls begin if there is no response.

Check out your calendar on your computer since you are on it daily and it can be a big help.

Loretta, I can so relate to being overwhelmed! I am one of those people that the more overwhelmed I get the more I just start to shut down. I hate it. Sometimes I feel like I have no control over myself and just can't seem to get motivated for anything.

I wanted to jump on here and let you know that you are not alone. I think that procrastination is a side effect of chronic pain..lol Seriously though, it seems really hard to get things done when you just want to curl up in the fetal position and wait for it all to go away.

I really hope you can get in to get those masses checked out soon though...sooner rather than later. Hang in there we are all here for you! Take care.

       Loretta, I have to agree with Damouthy1 on the procrastination being a side effect of chronic pain. It's a reasonable thought to put things off when your not feeling well....and then before you know it, your way behind, and overwhelmed with it.

     It's possible that it adds stress and or can lead to depression as well. Stray has given you some good advice, as to using your computer for reminders. It probably would be best to priortize your list to help you keep on track.

      Sorry you're not feeling well these days....I certianly understand that feeling well.

I can highly recommend the calendar programs and the alerts! I use them everyday or I would never keep up with anything. Somehow I forgot I had a gastro apt on Tuesday until they called today and it was not in my phone so I would never have even considered it. The apointments thing is the ONLY reason I purchased the Iphone I got several months ago and it is amazing! I rarely miss anything anymore because of the reminders. I even use them for my shots at night and for taking my daughter to school and picking her up. I even set it with two reminders in the PM. This way, if I am in another place and need to drive to the school, I have enough time to make it there safely.

Before I had the phone, I just relied on the computer calendar with my email program. Now it links to the phone and I still get the alerts that were there before the purchase, without having to manually transfer them.

Straydog I have misplaced the cd with the ct-scan on it along with the papers to fill out because the pulmonary doctor is an new dr, and you know how that is. I have to locate those . I have the cd stuck down in the envelope that the paperwork is in. I have to find those, or call both places and get them replaced. I know I am taking a chance, but I just can't do anything right now. it's like I'm stuck. AAAAAHHHHHH

I'll take your advise to use the calendar on my computer. I have to do something. I don't know how to use the calendar to get it to send me messages. i guess I will look at it and see if I can figure it out.

Shannon I would love to go lay down in a fetal position and stay there, but I know that wouldn't help any. I'm glad you're back . How is your sister doing? How are you doing?

Michael Yes, I know you realize how it feels to feel bad. I hope your doctor is helping you with the problems that you recently found out that you have.

Loretta you are not stuck, call the dr Monday morning and explain that you have misplaced the cd and paperwork and ask if you can come by and pick up another copy. I am sure they would be more than glad to provide this to you. People lose stuff all the time and I am sure you would not be the first to tell them this either.

The calendar is real easy to use, once you get the hang of it, you will love it and wonder what you did before.

Let us know what the drs office tells you.

So sorry you are having so much pain Loretta. Is there something new going on with your back that could be causing this pain to increase so much? I think it's very important for you to see your neurosurgeon and find out what the results of the mri are.
Might you need a change in medication?? do you take a muscle relaxer? And please do get the masses in your lungs checked out. I wouldn't be putting that off any longer.
You need to look after you as you are important. Make a list of calls you need to make. I have to write everything down or i would not remember. I keep a daytimer on the kitchen counter and write appt, etc. in it. I've also always been a list maker. I'm too computer illiterate to know how to do the calendar stuff, lol.

Hope you are getting some good sleep tonight and not awake like me. I also pray that your pain will lessen for you to have some better days.

Hi Suzane I'm still awake tonight, but i think this was written last night. Thank you for the support. I sure feel good when I feel the caring and understanding.

Straydog Why do you seem to be so harsh? I was just stating the way that I feel.

Tuesday I will be calling the two places and asking for another copy. It's just that I was feeling very overwhelmed at the time. I got the ct-scan at Buffalo MRI. I hope they won't charge me for another one. Due to me having to wait to get my Medicaid Transportation approved again, this will be my reshedule of my first appointment for them, so I hope they will let me reschedule again.


I think I'll do another once over to see if I can find them again.

Thank you all again for the support. What would I do without all of you.

Loretta...So sorry to learn that you have alot of pain. Hang in there and I am praying for you.

Call the doctor on tuesday..not monday it is a holiday.

Check the house again ...hopefully it will materilize

Loretta, sorry if you felt I was being harsh as that was not the intention. Just trying to help you out. You stated you were stuck and thats why I suggested you call the drs office and tell them you misplaced your info. I am terrible about putting stuff up and never finding it again. Its so bad that I tell the husband if he wants to see a paper again to put it away because if I do there is a real good chance of it never being seen again. I use lots of folders and still lose stuff.

I am really concerned about you, along with everyone else here at the forum about these masses that showed up. They may be nothing or something no one knows until you see your dr.

How have you been these last few days Loretta? I sure hope your pain level is a bit better.

Can your doctor do any epidural injections for you or have you had those before? Is it a herniated disc that you have?

did you get your doctor appt made that you needed? Just a friendly reminder my friend. LOL

Hope you are feeling a bit better. Our good tv shows will be starting soon, Can't wait. LOL

Hi Suzane Thank you for thinking of me. I'm having as much pain as ever. Some crappy days these days. I've been pretty depressed about it as well.

I called the place yesterday that I got the ct-scan at of the masses on my lungs. I have to pay them $5.00 because I have already gotten a copy of it. We don't have a car, so I can't go to pick one up. I don't have anyone to take me there either.

I feel I can't win for losing. I feel defeated because my pain won't get better and all the other.

I thought about calling the pulmonologist office and get an appointment and tell them that I lost the copy of papers that i got to fill out and bring with me and can they send me another copy. I suppose I'll do that tomorrow.

I also have to call the neurosurgeon about looking at my MRIs to determine if there is anything new on those.

On top of that, I was having increased GERD/Reflux symptoms when I saw my pcp the last time I saw her. She told me to take 2 prilosec a day (up from 1) and call and make an appointment to see gastroenterologist.

I also need to call and make an appointment with a heart doctor because I have had a slightly abnormal EKG for a couple of years now. I just had my second 24 hour monitor done a few weeks ago. I still have to take it back. The one was normal last year.My doctor wants me to have a treadmill test. the one where they inject the dye that makes your heart rate increase instead of having you walk, since i can't walk very far.

The one doctor said for me to make the appointment and then he would decide if I need the test. Now my pcp referred me to one that is here closer to me, so I guess I'll call this one and see what he/she says

Ah so sorry you are not having any luck with decreased pain levels. don't give up. Get all your appts made and then you will
see some results and someone will help you. At this point do you know if you have a herniated disc? have you had previous back surgery? nerve blocks, epidural injections, anything to help your pain.

Let us know how you are doing with making those dr. appt. Maybe jerome can help you as well to make some calls.

I hope today is better for you Loretta. You sure derserve some down time.
