I just got back from my IME scheduled by W/C.  Well, he said that I need a total knee replacement.  He measured my affected leg to my good leg.  He felt my leg and tried to bend it past 80 degrees...that was painful!!  All in all since he saw what my leg went thru from my scars  I wasnt surprised  that he said total knee is needed.  So let opposing council try to deny me a knee operation.  Ha!

I am exhausted , I hurt but cant take a nap.  My mind is racing with my upcoming mediation and my pre op appts and my surgery. 

I am trying to train my female 5 yr old sheltie not to bark and bark.  I say no and shake a fly swatter at her and she runs into her crate and she shuts up.  Since I will be recovering from surgery soon I will need quiet in the house, no pandamonium!!

betsey ,I found myself its best not to think about up coming surgery as it only stresses you out more ,long as you have you appt. dates marked down ,try to put the rest out of your mind till it happens!Iknow its hard to do,but you need the rest now.As you know animals can tell when aperson is stressed as well,but good luck with trainning the dog.Animals are such good company. take care and try not to worry!

Betsey, I'm glad your IME went well, though sorry it was so painful for you *gentle hugs* I hope that you can manage some rest.

Found out that W/C isnt paying for my 2 visits to my ortho doc in my local town, my $500 allergy test,pre op tests and m.y knee surgery because they say that my knee damage isnt the result of my fall.  My lawyer is trying to straighten it out but it isnt quick enough.  So my 11-15-11 knee surgery is cancelled and everthing else is on hold.  My mediation in front of a w/c judhe is on 11-9 with my lawyer and opposing council.  I am so disgusted with everything but Im not giving up without a fight!

My lawyer can extend her claws further than opposing council.  I trust my lawyer as long as I remind her to write a letter since its been 30 days since a subpeona was sent to opposing council to get the name of the manufacturer of the walk behind belt loader and the operating manuel.  I keep tabs on everything and call my law office 3 times a week with questions.

It is snowing here today.   Way to soon.

Hi Betsey I'm so sorry that W/C is giving you so much crap. It sure isn't right. I wish you good luck on the 9th.

Where do you live? I saw on the news on tv and the yahoo news that the snowstorm is really wreaking havoc on the places that are getting dumped on by the snow.

Hello

My mediation for today was cancelled because both parties didnt receive the report of the independent medical exam and a report about medicare elegelbility for me.  Now mediation is 12-7-11 one week before my preop tests.  Once again my december appointments wont be paid by w/c.  The ortho nurse will call me today after talking to her ortho doc about when can my surgery be scheduled.  I never wanted it scheduled in january because of the snow and ice we get in pennsylvania in the winter.  I really need it in december my pain isnt subsiding and now arthritis has settled in my tibia due to it being crooked.

 

I am at my wits end!!  I cant take anymore delays.  I hurt to much.

Betsey, I am so sorry, that is ridiculous! I can't believe how much WC has put you through to get the benefits you deserve. Hopefully they will be able to schedule you for early January and you will figure out a way around the weather problem. I'm sending gentle hugs and prayers for strength and patience in this maddening process.

The ortho doc that did my IME finally sent my lawyer the conclusion of paperwork about his exam. So this is good. Dec 7 is my mediation for w/c. I hope we settle for a good amount. They better pay for my allergy tests and preop tests and knee surgery. My knee is killing me, way to long to do it.

When we 3ot back from the banquet on sunday we were told my male sheltie slipped his collar and ran away. I was devasted.3 nghts and 4 days later I found him 6 miles away in a creek. I took him to his vet got hin microchipped,and all his shots. He has been sleeping in my lap alot simce he has arrived home. He is only 14 lbs a real feather weight.

We dont have children so our dogs are our children.

Hello Betsey,

I've been keeping track of your progress (or lack there of with WC :() That program is sooooo bad on the people it is supposed to help. Obviously there is a great deal of fraud and they want to weed out the problems, but even more obviously....you are not one of those. I wish I could send a dose of compassion and caring to you, but we haven't found a way to bottle that yet.

I'm so happy you found your dog!!!! I didn't believe it until I found my little Maggie (pom), but these little guys and gals can really change your whole life. I know that I needed Maggie as much as she needed me! It's been amazing how much life has changed since I rescued this little ball of fur. She was so horribly abused, with so many issues, but I couldn't really see them. Now I look back at her earlier photos and think that I must have been blind to how sick this dog really was. She is so much better now.

I did have a scare with her earlier this week and though we were loosing her to the heart worms that she has had since we got her. Of course, her heart will never complete heal, but it appears all of the worms are now gone. It was just that she was coughing and hacking like she had swallowed a turkey call. She did it all night long and then again the next morning. I thought she was done for, but I took her to the vet anyway and low and behold she has bronchitis!! He thinks "someone" ...another dog... walked through our yard with a bad case and Maggie just sniffed it one too many times. She has such a poor immune system, but she's really doing much better since she got the steriods and antibiotics. She'll have to be on them for quite some time, I'm afraid, but it's certainly worth it.

I know you must be in heaven to have your little one home again! There is nothing like true, honest, complete love to make you feel better.

I'm so glad you found your dog, sure hope she's back to her normal self soon...
I'd go nuts if my cats got away, it'd be the worse day of my life, so I'm
glad you have your beloved dog back with you....maybe train her to play fetch
for you like getting the newspaper in and maybe that would help with the barking
I saw dogs 101 today and they had shelties on, they are cute but do tend to
bark a lot...

Hi Everyone

 

yes I have been quiet, sorry.  With the amount of pain in my entire left leg which isnt being managed at all well, my quality of life is bad.  Pm management doctor in 1 week wants to reduce my oxycontin from 10 mg 3 times a day to oxy 10 mg 2 times a day until my Dec 30 knee replacement surgery.  I called my ortho doc and talked to the nurse about this, I know he doesnt have a problem with my current dosage of a total of 30 mg a day of oxycontin.

 

I cant get into a deep sleep at all, I hurt to much. 

 

I did a little online xmas shopping and it will be shipped to our house.
