I have been taking 30 MG Oxicodone for the last couple of years for cronic pain. I found this forum when looking for information reguarding the Shortage manufacturing issue recently. Many had rumors that the government wants to force the makers to make a "Tamper proof" Pill.
Well as a LEGAL, LEGIT script holder I am here to say all they do by tampering with this in order to make it tamper proof is simply make the situation Much more dangerous. For example the Oxicottin was recently changed. The ones use to say OC now they say OP on the pills. Now this was an effort to make the pills so called tamper proof only the needle freaks STILL Found a way to inject the crap and in my opinion attempting to solve the problem only made it that much more dangerous for those who tamper with them. And made it a pain in the rump for us who likes our meds the way they are!!
I do not want them to change my meds for any reason. Much less to regulate those who are NOT Legally obtaining these meds.. They do not need to regulate based on those who are NOT suppose to use these meds anyway. They need to be ONLY Concerned with US Who DO use it. Now I do not want to put ANYTHING Else in my body simply because they want to ATTEMPT to make them tamper proof.
I use the word "Attempt" because I noticed on the TV Series "Intervention" that they take the new "Tamper proof" OP or Oxicottin and they grind it in a screen and where then able to shoot it up. ie tamper with it..
The bottom line is, In a world where people figure out how to make a home lab to cook meth, Look at all the bogus crap our government did to prevent meth from being cooked. They took the best sinus pills off the market. So what do people still cook meth today? ABSOLUTELY!!
Has the meth problem lessoned since they regulated effedren pills? HELL NO!! The meth epademic had doubled or trippled in the last few years so we really need to ask our self if anything our taxes is being spent on is HELPING the problem..
So first WHY do they want "Tamper proof" Oxicottin? Well to stop people from Snoprting, Injecting the stuff correct? But they spend OUR Tax $$$ to regulate OCs and turn them into a so called tamper Proof OP Tablet and what do I see on TV..
Well not only are the needle freaks still finding ways to inject the stuff, thuss proving all these efforts are in complete vain!! But WORSE!! It is MUCH More dangerous for that needle freak!! I know all us script holders really dont care if its safe for these Idiots or not BUT,, Why is our government trying to prevent this?
Well because they want to pretect these people from them selfs!! But they can NOT do that so its a waste of time.. So how do you justify spending tax $$$ to help keep needle freaks safe when they turn around and inject the stuff ANYWAY Thuss making it that much more dangerous..
First of all its to late!! 90% of these people are addicts now so when we change the medication they will break there back to find a way to inject the stuff. In fact even if they make them tamper proof they will still inject them and only succeed in hurting them selfs!!
Now as a legit user I do not need my tax$$$ going to change a pill to prevent an ILLEGAL User from tampering with them!!
Next I am regulated by my Dr to take my medication Oraly 6 a day!! So that means I can use a pill crusher to mix it in a drink or food to make it digest more easy and less damaging to my tummy. Or for what ever reason, I am legally able to crush my medication so long as I take it by MOUTH!!
So attempting to change this to prevent ILLEGAL Users defeats the purpose!! I have a better idea, Put our tax dollars into the hands of DEA and bust the people selling there scripts!! But changing our script making it more dangerous for abusers is NOT the way to go!!
They need to consider that its to late for most users so making it harder to inject will make them Crazy, In a state of withdrawl and they will still inject the crap!! So another option needs to be considered and they really need to TALK to us legal script users before they go making changes like this..
Anyway that is my 2 cents...
