My new ceramic hip is clicking when I walk. Any info would help..

I received my new hip on Sept 8,2011 and everything went very well.All post op x-ray's were great.Then about a month ago I started to have a funny feeling in the new hip when walking up my stairs. This has slowly progressed to a clicking noise and slight movement when walking up my stairs and sometimes on flat surfaces and just this last week I started to have some pain in the upper area where the hip was replaced. It was replaced because the femoral head had totally collapsed. I have not called my Ortho yet, Because I am just a little tired of dealing with all of these problems. I postponed my total left shoulder replacement surgery because of this. Has anybody had any complications post-op total hip? I think it might be the muscles and ligaments not being up to strength around the replacement causing the problem but I do know I need to get another x-ray and have the Ortho see the hip. Any help is appreciated.Thanks Randy

Hi Randy, please do call your surgeon about this. I know what you mean about having to see drs, some times it seems like that is all I do and I get tired of it. You know it may not be much of anything but at least getting in to the dr you will know for sure what is going on.

I will do my best to send you some positive vibes so when you see the dr he says it is something that is common and no problem. Then you can put it out of your mind and not have to worry about it. Take care.
