Ok well last I mentioned was the MRI and catscan. Catscan showed no cancer! The MRI however showed a labral tear and cam lobes on my hip. So I had surgery yesterday to fix the tear and grind the excess bone away. They put me On so many meds that I still feel like crap and I'm posted up on the couch. Hopefully after I'm all healed up and done with rehab my back will show signs of improvement also. Just stopping by to let you all know I'm ok and I haven't forgot about the help you've given me.

I'm glad that your scan showed no signs of cancer.... that's great news!

Hoping you heal quickly from your surgery - and continue to feel better.... Thanks for the update.

you've been thru a lot, so glad to hear that you don't have cancer, but take things
easyfor a few days since you've just had surgery...Hope your hip heals up good
and maybe that can relieve some of your back pain...

resurrecting old post.im all done with surgery and rehab now. for a while it seemed like things were looking up, but now its really bad again. i dont get very much sleep at night and i have to take my painkillers just to make it through the day. i come home from work exhausted and unable to sleep. i feel like all the money ive put into trying to fix my pain is for nothing at this point. everything ive tried temporarily gives me some relief, but after a while it comes back worse than before. i just don't know what to do anymore. i know your hear to help, but i feel guilty venting to anyone at this point. i put on a smile for my fiancee and try not to grimace when i do things to help her. i dont want to burden her with this but at some point its all gonna give out and that really scares me. i feel like ive let myself down, that there is something more i could've done. i just dont know what to do anymore.i just dont know

Wisco, I'm sorry that your pain is troubling you so much again. Please don't feel guilty venting to us - as you said yourself, we're here to help and to listen as and when you need us to.

Are you still seeing a pain management doctor? What is his view of your current situation and the cause of your pain - i.e. a 'mechanical' type pain that is going to respond to opioids or anti-inflammatory meds...or more like a nerve pain...you've also got back problems I think?

It may not be something that helps you, but I wonder if it's worth you thinking about talking to someone like a pain psychologist to see if they might help you in other ways of dealing with your pain - chronic pain really is a grieving process in many ways, and you're also dealing with the guilt of burdening your fiancée with your pain and its related problems.

Wisco we all need to vent and rant and this is the place you can do it with no judgement. We all suffer in one way or another, I have no experience with your issue so I am going to say just try as hard as you can. You might want to let the fiancé in on what is happening because if she is going to be in the big picture she could be helping. That's just my opinion of course. Others will be by to leave you hopefully a little feedback about your injury.

Do not keep your fiance in the dark, she might already know somethings not right, so tell her and maybe also try pain management, and maybe there could be something out there that cn help, keep hope, medical science makes strides...there is hope..

i talked to my fiancee today. she is supportive, but doenst seem to understand the intenisty of the pain. right now i take one 5/325 percocet to cut the edge a little for work. if i take two to get more relief i feel very sick and throw up occasionally... not prime working conditions. does anyone have any suggestions? if i ask my pm doc for nausea medicine will that keep me from throwing up my pain meds?

Congratulations! no cancer is a huge deal! I hope you get the rest of your pain lessened soon.
