Hi Family

 

Doppler was clear---no clots as predicted.  I am waiting to hear from surgeon if he feels that I need another xray of knee since the other one was done 2 weeks ago.

 

2 more hours until my oxycontin pill  That helps bring my pain down to a 5.  Whoopie!!!

 

I am making spaghetti sauce, salad, and cheesie garlic bread for supper tonight.  Do dishes tomorrow morning

Great news on the doppler test and happy to hear the Oxycontin dosage raise is doing it's job!

Will keep praying for a clean x-ray and that it's just recovery pain that will start to lessen over time...

As I mentioned before..I have quite a few friends who have had both knees replaced and are loving life pain free now (maybe an Tylenol once in awhile) and are more active then they ever were playing golf, tennis, and hiking..:)

Slept like a log last night.

Still waiting to hear from ortho doc nurse wheather the surgeon feels that I should have another x-ray done of my left leg . I had one done 4-16-12 and all the hardware was lined up properly .

I have physical therapy scheduled today. I will see if my range of motion increases today since Im on different meds.

     That's good news Betsey! yeah

         I'm hoping...like others here that your pain will lesson soon. Just make sure you don't over do it, since your experiencing less pain on the Oxy's.

Great news on the doppler results. I'm praying for less pain and quick healing. As SE said, try not to overdo it!

My ortho surgeon said that there isnt a need for another x-ray n of my knee since I had one done 2 weeks agp. So no x-ray for me to pay out of pocket for.

I was able to bend my knee 5 degrees more and straighten it 5 degrees more so when I bend I am up to 90 degrees.

I went to walmart and took a motorized cart and purchased one top to wear with my jeans and a twill iron on patch for my husbands work pants, purchased a value pack of 5 soft toothbrushes oral B, and nail polish.

My new regime of meds are really helping me.  I dont have any pain when i sit or lay down.  My pain is managable when i walk with a cane.  Im not overdoing because I dont want to pay for it.

 

I can do last night supper dishes and one load of wash and my physical therapy.

 

I removed the polish on my nails and applied a different shade.  It makes me feel pretty.

My leg lets me know when I did enough walking or standing. Then that is it for me , I sit for awhile and elevate the leg.

My meds keep helping me and I go to PT on monday and see how I do. Maybe I graduate to riding a bike. See what happens.

Maybe I should look into a YMCA gym membership cause there is one not far from my house in FL and one close to our house in PA.

My leg was throbbing and painful so I went to bed at 6:30 pm and placed a pillow between my legs. It felt good. and I slept until 9:00 pm. So now Im on my recliner and I will see how my leg feels.

It has been a long road for me since my 2010 injury , to many surguries on my left leg, alot of therapy with no improvement. I feel very disgusted and sad.

I will hobble out to kitchen to get me ice cream

I slept very well last night. Today I take my older sheltie dog to the groomer and in the afternoon I go to therapy. I have to be sure to take my meds 1 hour before therapy.

Im wheezing this morning and it is real bad. should I call pain clinic or family doctor? 3 family members have upper respiratory issues. Is my wheezing caused by my meds?

I called my pain doc office and explained my wheezing...they referred me back to family doctor.. So I called family doc and he is out of country until friday so i made appt with him on Friday so he can listen to my lungs.

I am apprehensive I always think of cancer.

I will post about this appt when I return from family doc appt on friday

SE.....I will go to the ER if I get worse and cant catch my breath.

I will see if I wheeze upon awakening tuesday morning.

Today I was short of breath and wheezing so loud that my shelties were barking at me.Well, I will see how Im am by 5:00 am tuesday morning. I hope Im not bad.

I was wheezing when I woke up tuesday but it wasnt as bad as monday morning wheezing. Knee is very stiff today.

I will see how I feel today.

I didnt hear wheezing this morning but I felt short of breath. Not bad , just a little. i drank caffenated coffee to see if that helps and it did .

I have Physical therapy at 8:15 am today and I just want to go back to bed today. I will get myself dressed and then go to my appt but my heart isnt in it today.

I will keep you updated.

Laura...When I got home from therapy I went straight to bed and slept for 4 hours. I felt better, not as wiped out.

I feel stronger but not well enough to cook supper. I need to be waited on for supper so I want to go out for supper. No pots and pans to wash.

The longer I waited for husband to come home from work the more ill I got. There was no way I was leaving this house. The room was spinning and I was short of breath. I applied metholatum to my chest snf layed down. He stopped at a burger place and brought home 2 burgers and fries.

I feel really weak today

Family doctor listened to my lungs. They are clear. I explained what occurs when I wheeze and he thinks that for now it is allergies so he prescribed an inhaler for me that costs 51.00 . See how I am in 2 weeks.

Therapy was uneventful today I got up to 87 degrees bend.I scheduled for 3 more appointments at therapy for next week.


I am exhausted today. The 6 year old boy is driving me nuts. He says he has trouble opening our kitchen door. Nobody else in this house has trouble. Then he wanders all over the neighborhood and doesnt stick around home where he belongs. His dad is going to be ticked off.

I hurt real bad this saturday morning. I took my pain meds when I woke up. I fed the dogs and went outside with them so they could go potty.

My back and neck hurt this morning.


I go see the pain doc this thursday. That will be a blessing.

The 6 yr old little boy who is the son of our godson was trying to cross a busy street the other day which he isnt allowed to do because he was going to try to collect coins and dollars from people. I dont know why he would want to do that unless some bully was demanding money from him. He is a big boy and nobody else is bigger than him but he does have speech impediment. So I will have to keep an eye on him until his dad comes home from work.

I feel crappy today. I dont want eggs and bacon today. Dont want to wash up a greasey pan.

Hi Betsey, sorry you are nt feeling good. Do you think you might be lw on iron? Maybe that's why you are so tired. I only mention it ecause my daughter has suggested this to me. I am sleeping a bunch.
