Mother nature is killing me!

For the last week it's rained every day and my joints are MISERABLE. Does this happen to others? Is it the low pressure?

Yes, same thing happens here - I feel it through my entire body. Not sure what it is caused from... just that it hurts!

     Morning kaely!

          I'm not sure the weather bothers me as far as High/Low pressure, and cold fronts...but I do perfer the winter months over the summer months. confused   I have a hard time with the heat index, plus I now wear the patch and have to avoid hot environments. I can always put on extra clothing, but can't get enough off in this kind of heat. We have been at 100 plus for several days now, plus high humidity....not a good mix for me.

Kaely, As the weather fronts roll through I feel them sometimes and get achy myself. Just another thing we can't change and have to deal with. I tell my wife quite often there is a weather front coming because I feel it in my left knee at times. And on occasion in my back.

SE, You all hear me talking about sitting on the screen porch quite often. Even when it is a hot day. I actually do that for a couple of reasons. It gets me out of the house is one. But it also helps to keep me condition where I can tolerate the higher heat temps in the summer. I've found that being in the A/C all the time causes me to suffer greatly when I go out in the heat. So if I can I condition myself it isn't too bad. I learned to sit outside back when I worked because it wasn't uncommon to be in areas where the temperature was 130 deg at times. Don't know if that works for everyone but helped me over the years of living in the Hot South and working in a Hot power plant. The cold seems to make me hurt the worse. Each year I get where I have more trouble with it. I am a hot natured person and used to wear T-shirts in the winter sometimes. But I now find my self wearing thermal underwear on occasion during the winter. I think meds have an affect on me also.

        ...that makes sense Dale...but at this point because of the Fentanyl patch.

..I have to be careful of the heat now. It's all about comfort at this point for me...guess I'm a whimp! tongue

I have read that the barometric pressure causes pain to get worse, and I believe it because when it moves, I can tell it. I tell my husband it's going to rain when it hasn't started yet.

Kaily, I hope you get to feeling better really soon. Could you send some rain our way? We need it bad.

I live in northern Maine so I love summer. To you people living in the heat, try a winter in Maine! Trust me, heat is better than bitter cold.

I have oseoarthritis and fibromyaglia and I can definately say the weather is a factor. I can tell a day in advance if the weather is going to change. But with my fibro I feel the changes more stormy times it seems. So yes the weather does have an inpact on my health.

So true Kaely. lol 3 seasons in maine. Winter, mud and a couple of weeks of summer.

Right now though the black flies and misquito's are the size of jet planes.

My dad always used to say, "its easier to warm up than it is to cool down". But I live in northern Ohio so winter is usually pretty tolerable as long as I'm properly bundled up 8-)

I definitely struggle with the weather. I can feel a change coming usually a day or two before it arrives - and I'd also rather have warm (not hot) than cool/cold weather any day. It's mid winter here and our 'warm' days have only been around 12C ... often close to freezing with wind chill ... and my body doesn't like it at all.

YES! Mother nature is awful, low pressure is horrible for me, high winds with tight isobars, awful and when a winter storm is brewing no good.....I know exactly how you feel and living in Kansas I suffer all the seasons. I hope you get better quick!

Kaely see my post on SE's 4 of July thing, I can agree with you about the temps. I have lived where it is cold ( up in Alaska) and I am not sure what is worse the cold or the heat, I know here in the midwest we just get to much humidity with both of them! I have lived in the south west and had high heat with low humidity and it wasn't all that bad, and I have live up north in Alaska with extreme cold but again low humidity, and it was some what tolerable. But the humidity is a killer! I don't ever remember havign a summer this hot here in Illinois, this early! I hope this is not a omen of what is to come! Yes and I also agree with you about having no storms! The change in weather is also really hard on my joints, sometimes I can tell when we are going to have bad weather just by the way my back and knees feel!

I'll definitely take heat over cold any day. The storms lately have been irritating, but overall summer is far better than winter for me.
