I saw my pm dr. a little over one week ago. It was for my scheduled, monthly appt. I received two rx's as i typically do for hydro's. I request that they write two so that i can pay for them seperately as I can afford to pay for one and then another when they are seperated. i have requested this. However when I went to the pharmacy after my dr. visit the pharmacist wrote fill on x-x-x date under the date they had written and refused to fill it.
In anger and pain induced anger I scribbled it out and blackened the entire box. I have not filled this script
as when I called the dr. they indicated that they agreed with the pharmacy and I should wait until x-x-x date to fill the script
. I asked why since it had been my normal monthly scheduled appt with the dr. they said they felt i was taking too much and I had to wait. I told them I was in pain and they said go to the ER if you are in that much pain. I was dumbfounded as I had just been there and they were really nice to me and I was surprised that they agreed to write both script
s, for that day and then they wouldn't honor them when I went to the pharmacy.
I realized that the other script
they had written was also dated for the same day as the appt. I went to a different (same chain), pharmacy and they filled it - no questions asked or issue whatsoever. i felt bad that I was asked to wait until x-x-x date, by the dr. but i feel that I had paid and they had agreed, and they had written the script
s, so I was confused and upset that the pharmacist could do what he did. However I now have the 2nd script
and I want to fill it tomorrow which was the date the pharmacist agreed on and the date my dr. okayed over the phone, when we spoke the day of my visit. I do not know, if they know, that I filled the other script
that same day -as I could since they wrote it for that same day?
My main question is:underneath the date to fill, written by the dr, is a big black box, blackened out by me. It was where the pharmacist wrote fill on x-x-x date. tomorrow is that date. I am not sure if I should even try to take it to be filled since it looks suspicious with the big black box marked out underneath the date. Everything on the prescript
ion is legitimate. However since it is a controlled substance I am certain the pharmacy will call the dr. They will most likely say "she last filled on x-x-x date (the date the pharmacist and dr. had asked me to wait until filling).
Or I could call today and ask the dr. to write a new one but I am unsure if this will cause them to look up when I last filled and realize that I didn't wait as they requested over the phone. However i do not feel that I did anything wrong as I had been to the dr and the script
s were both legitimate. I felt that I should be allowed to fill it due to them agreeing to see me and write both script
s for that date. I now want to take the 2nd script
to be filled but am worried it will raise red flags. Normally I would say 'no worries' call my dr. But since I didn't wait, as they had asked, I am wondering what type of situation I might be in if I try to fill it or try to call the dr and ask them to write a new one ( I would have to hand over the other one that I scribbled on).
Please advise me and let me know what might be the best course of action. I have paid the PM dr and I have been going for months. Until now I've never had any issues. I am trying to decide if I should take the script
in, as it is and try to have it filled (or will they call the dr. and say that i had just filled one and that is a bad idea or should I call the dr and see if they will write a new one and explain that I blackened out the things the pharmacist had written on them)? All and any suggestions or advice will be deeply appreciated.
