It really depends on the person and the issue that is wrong. I have had numerous ones over the years and they have helped for a good 3-6 months. I have also gotten cortisone injections which help reduce inflammation. Same thing with a course of oral steroids.
If they are offering this as a pain reduction method...you should take it as you'll never know unless you try it yourself.
As I've mentioned in the other thread...chronic pain management is so much more than just the opiates or medication we take.
There is exercise, yoga/stretching, physical therapy, aqua therapy, TENS unit, massage, acupuncture, ice, heat, cognitive behavioral therapy, not smoking, eating well, maintaining a healthy weight, injections, steroids, counseling, etc.
That's why I was hoping this new PM would help you figure out the best comprehensive pain program that can get you down to a 5 or so with all of the above..
