NEWBIE Seeking Advice ! :-)

Hiya All ! , my names Emma i'm 26 ( 27 this year ) , from Stoke on trent , i suffer from a lot of pain in my Left breast , i have been in pain for the last 5 years , originally i and the NHS thought that this was down to the breast implants that i have , i am on medication for such pain which isn't particular doing much !!! ,
i am on Co-Codamol 30/500 at the moment and Amitriyptaline 10MG , this isnt the only pain killer i have been on Tramadol , Dihydrocodeine , as well ... well basically i went to the Nuffield today for a consult about my breast , the surgeon examined it , and said there is only a mild capsular contraction and that shouldn't cause the amount of pain i am in , and has recommended i go to a Pain Clinic after being refereed by my GP of coarse , basically what i wanted to know is if anyone has had anything similar to this ? , its a constant pain , i have done research and have found out information about RSD ? , i would really appreciate some advice , i cant work because of this , and i am depressed , its really ruining my life :-(

Hi Emma and welcome to the chronic pain forum. Everyone that comes here has a story to tell as to what has led them to the life of living with chronic pain. Since your drs have not been able to give you a reasonable explanation as to why your are having so much pain, its great that they are recommending a consult with a PM dr,. I know its very frustrating to know something is not quite right but no one can tell you what is wrong. Since PM drs specialize in pain mgt and have more knowledge on what medications work better for different types of pain, hopefully the dr will be able to help you. Did your drs have you get an MRI of your breast or was is plain film xrays they had done?

Glad you found our small corner of the net, Healing Well Chronic Pain is a great place to be if you have the need. You will be among those that will have a natural understanding and empahty of your pain. We are all in pain here, for various reasons and maladies.

Being a male, I can't give any helpful tips or advice for your questions. But just wanted to let you know you are most welcomed to be here. Ask all the questions you wish, and if you get frustrated and need to vent and get it off your chest, vent away. We can take it, we all do it.

Please keep us posted of how you are doing. Hope you see some improvements soon, and never, ever, give up hope.
