Hi, I am new to this board and am looking for information regarding the difference between the Boston Scientific and Medtronic spinal cord stimulation implants. I have gone through my trial evaluation and was very pleased with the pain reduction - other than I experienced constant, annoying tingling at the knees. I will be getting my permanent implant in a few weeks and am hoping the permanent one will give me better control over the sensations.
My doctor (neurosurgeon) has recently switched from Medtronic to Boston Scientific - people I know have previously had the Medtronic system. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had either or both of these systems, also the difference in success between the percutaneous leads and paddle leads.
I add here that I have previously had two back surgeries with L4 & L5 fusion. This is why I think the doctor feels the paddle lead would work best for me as he had some difficulty getting the trial leads past my scar tissue.
