Hey 2y4t,

You mentioned about kids' shoes on the other thread - don't even get me started, lol..... uggggh. Especially the ages that our little ones are at... they are continually needing new ones because of the changes in size. But then they get older and do sports/activities and wear the shoes out! Tomorrow we are going shoe shopping for 4 of ours. :(

Anyway, when my older ones were little.... I used to buy more expensive shoes when they were young. Forget that. Now, we do Payless Shoe Source for the little ones.... especially since we have twins - it's 2x everything! It's the older ones that want the $40+ shoes. Bleh.

I don't know where you buy clothes for your 2 year old.... but I totally recommend The Children's Place... especially their "clearance section". Their PJ's are normally around $8 and are really cute. But on the sale rack - they have shirts, shorts, etc. - that, with the discount, are just a few dollars. You can also find great coupons online for their store. The best thing about their clothes is that they hold up and look "new" even w/ multiple washes.

Regardless... no matter how you look at it - kids are expensive, that's for sure! (but worth it!) smilewinkgrin

Wow, thank you so much Tina, Id never even heard of the children's place before I looked it up, theres one across town in the town where I see my back surgeon. I have to go down there on the 20th for a preop appointment, so I'll make sure to bring my little guy for sizing. I did see that they have some shorts and stuff on clearance, so I might just order them. That is such a big help, thank you!!!

No problem! Like I said - it's become my mission to dress these kids in a fashionable way - but as cheap as possible, lol... :) And, like I said, their clothes are very durable...

You can order online... or, if you go to the store, look for the 60 to 75% boys' rack... and I'm sure you'll find at least a few things.

Makes me miss it when my boys were little... Anyway - if you ever have any kid questions, lol.... I'd be happy to help! Take care... --Tina

Again thank-you so much, my biggest kid question lately is how do you find patience for potty training when you're hurting so bad? I've been trying, but nothing yet. What makes it more difficult for me is that he's very delayed in his speach. The folks from the county have been giving him language development classes, but its pretty slow going. They're starting to believe he mivht have aspergers like me. I was only recently diagnosed, after going to see a councillor for my divorce. He sent me to a psych doc who finally figured it out.

Yep he's my little bundle of joy. Gives me something to get out of ned for even on my worst pain days.

Hey on a side note, do you know anything about the possibility of my pain meds making me more sensitive to the pain of an old shoulder injury, I started a thread hoping that someone mihht have some insight on it. If you wouldn't mind taking a gander there and giving me some input on that when you can, I'd really appreciate it.

I love the Children's Place clearence.

Do you have a Carter's or Osh Kosh outlet near you? They also have great clearence racks.

Tina I so agree about Payless. Love it especially with the amount of shoes the kids have gone through. The older kids we get their shoes at the New Balance outlet when they do their tent sale. It helps that I live right down the road from them and have been able to get the older kids shoes for $20. I'm not sure if they also do their tent sale online.

2y I know when I was potty training I had multiple potty chairs. I had them in the kitchen and living room. And it helped. Our youngest didn't start talking again until she was almost 5, she has acquired apraxia and dysgraphia. So we've been dealing with speech therapy since she was 2. This may not work for everyone but the speech therapist that was coming to the house taught our daughter and us some sign language which helped with our daughters frustration with not being understood and our frustration with trying to figure out what she wanted. Might be worth a shot.

I'll have to try a few of those. His speech has improved by leeps and bounds since January, his vocabulary of real words before then was cup, OK, and daddy. Everything else was just babble, he would and still does stand up on top of something like a preacher or politician and go into a full 20 minute speach that only he understands. He has a really good understanding of words, I can tell him multiple part tasks and he follows them to a T, at least when he wants to.

Tina, keep an eye on those twins, me and my twin brother used to play some pretty cruel jokes on our mom and teachers. One venture we took on back in '06, we drove a bigrig together, it was very common for us to drive on the other's log book using the other's driver's license. Had a couple of cops at the inspection stations who held us up, you always have to bring your co-drivers log book and license with you for an inspection, they didn't believe there was another driver in the truck lol, our licenses look like the same person.

Again, thanks for the tips, I'm sure I'll be able to implement some of that stuff as I go. I've had full custody of my son since he was 11 months old, so I've definitely had a lot to learn and still do. Thanks again, and take care.
