my back hates me

Went for a quick 5 minute trip to get a gallon of milk, we have a drive through gas station right up the street that brings it right to your car. I asked for half gallons, by the time he got back with them, I had to ask him to get quarts instead. No way was I ganna lift those things, my back was ready to blow up in the half mile car ride. Ugh, Im starting to despise grocery shopping. Glad my son can carry these to the fridge. Ouchy.

Yup, stupid milk anyways lol. But the only other thing my son will eat for breakfast is pancakes or French toast, those are more effort than a drive for milk lol. I hope your back gets better too. This is major ouch time. Think I'm gonna start a late night back support group lol. It's gonna be a long night if these soma dont stop the spasms.

Thank-you Rose, it's not easy, and my son has his little moments, but for the most part, he's such a big helper. He takes directions very well and helps me with groceries, gets my cane for me, even sometimes when I dont ask for it lol, and even bathes himself pretty good, I have to assist in him a little with the bathing since he always misses the hair on the back of his head, but for two years old, I think he does fantastic! I couldn't ask for a more loving and caring kid, he's really a miracle that he turned out to be mine, and not someone else's kid.

Is the Flexeril and Soma not working at all? Since you were prescribed two different ones to take, I was thinking that would put a dent in those spasms for you...

When is the next appt. with the new PM?

Glad your little guy is so helpful...I guess I could put a carrying harness on my dogs back if I needed to! LOL:)

Matt- I am a single mom so i know how hard it can be. Oliver will be 3 yrs old on November 29. I do have help from my parents when I need it, but I prefer to do as much as I can on my own with Oliver.

Is your little man potty trained yet? I can imagine that's hard on you trying to potty train a 2 year old when you have chronic back pain. When I had surgery in March my mom kept Oliver during that time and decided to go ahead and potty train him. He got the hang of it quick and by the time I healed (about 2 weeks later) he was potty trained 100% thanks to my mom!

Anyways hope you start feeling better real soon!

Thanks every one. Last night was rough, I'd like to say I feel 100% better this morning, but no, think I'm as close as I'm gonna get though.

Alsoinpain, I have fed him the frozen waffles and pancakes before, I was really just trying to avoid an actual trip to the grocery store. My brother and his family left on vacation for the weekend, I meant to have them stock me up, but they were in a pretty big rush to get out on the road. I'm getting a list together for my mom to pick up for me this evening or in the morning.

Maryann, my son will be 3 November 14. He's not potty trained yet, that's one of the areas where he's been excessively stubborn lol. My aunt is going to take him for a month when I have my fusion on the 4th, she has assured me that if anyone can get him to go, she can lol. He can bathe himself pretty good, and puts his own clothes on with only a little guidance, but he's very stubborn about the toilet, I've got his patterns down, he'll go run and hide around 10:00 or so, and I'll get him on the stool then, and many other times throughout the day, but he'll sit there and hold it and go later on when his diaper is back on.

I'm definitely gonna let my aunt work her magic on that one, she said both of my cousins, who are 6 and 9, had the same issue. Well I dont know why the Epsom salt bath helped as well as it did, but I'm gonna try it again tonight after I get the gorilla put to bed, I slept like a log last night, hoping tbat this will be a good way of getting my body settled down for sleep, these muscle relaxers just aren't cutting it alone.

      Matt...David has really made some good comments here, and also we need to remember that if we are so medicated up to the point of being pain free,.....then a patient may miss early warning signs from our bodies,... that something else is not right...and that can be dangerous in it's self.

 I have to commend you on being a good father...and you remind me of one of our other members (Jim) ....sounds like you are having fun...even though it can be a struggle. Enjoy them while they are little, as the bigger problems may awaite you further down the road.    It's hard to believe but I have an uncanny memory when I was little, and remember my mother potty training me...and boy did I ever get a beating one time for messing my shorts!  I remember it to this day!

Oh, potty training. I remember those days, i had a heck of a time too, and wasn't even having pain problems back then. But if i may share a little, he wouldn't go near the potty. He'd be more than happy to "water" the bush's, tree's, grass, anything outside, for that matter but wouldn't go in the toilet itself. LOL.

Hope you are doing better today.

I have two boys and also waited till after two and a half yrs old to do the potty training, they just weren't ready at two.
