I think many of us can totally identify w/ what you are saying for sure.

For me, my anxiety flares before every appointment.... and, like you said, the stress vanishes when I walk out of there. What's funny is that I, too, have a great relationship w/ my doctors/pharmacy, am well liked and so forth. So, it's not even like I *should* feel so much anxiety each time.

But I think it's just that we depend so much on all of this for our quality of life - and we've all seen (through our own experiences or from here on the forum) - that things do happen.

Glad you had a good appointment.... and that you got your scripts, etc. Are you now on a good combo of meds... that allow you to get your work done but still have pain relief? I hope so.

I am the same way. Even right now having brain tumors that are swelling against my brain and other nerves, I still worry everytime I go see my PMD. And I know I shouldn't but I do.

I went to see my PMD last week. Not for refills but to discuss a problem with my arm. Ever since my surgery I can't raise it and its numb and tingles. He suggested an injection next time I come back. I said ok. I also told him my refills were due for that coming Tuesday. I said do you want me to make an appt or just call to pick it up at the front desk? He told his assistant (not a PA I don't think) that was in the room to go ahead and just write it out so I don't gotta come back. So the doctor walked out and all heck broke loose.

This guy tried to tell me I couldn't have my meds till I got the injection. Haha yeah right. These meds aren't even for my arm. We argued for 15 mins. I told him I was not leaving till he either went to talk to my doctor or brings the doctor back in the room.

Once he walked out to go speak with my doctor he came back and everythinrg was fine. What a stupid idiot. But it put so much stress on me that I don't need right now. This guy is like a nurse or something. He always follows my doctor around. I love his two PA's that I see also. Nothing like this has ever happened before. But goes to show why we all worry each visit.

Tina -- the combo of Ultram and oxycontin is working fairly well. I think the Ultram is offering still some modest support as an anti-depressant. For pain, I'm not sure if it is doing enough, and so a low dose of oxycontin is the supplement. I tried 20mg x2 daily, but it was interfering with memory and concentration.

Lately, I've been able to not use any BT meds once or twice a week -- and probably I could make it through more if I forced myself to lay down more often. Also, it is now only very rarely that I need more than 5mg of oxycodone for BT -- and I sometimes take just 2.5mg before dinner (along with my second oxycontin for the day), as pain always flares then.
