I have osteoarthritis all over my body but it is really bad in my hands, hips and low back. I also have multiple bulging discs in my low back. Anyone out there have methods of reducing the pain.
I have 3 jobs and none are easy. House cleaning, standing at as tasting bar for 4 hours and walking a floor for 4 hours at my other job. I know I am not helping myself but with no one else to pay the bills I have to keep doing this for another year when I can retire.

I have the same problems. What works for me when the pain is bad is ice 15 minutes on 15 minutes off. Some people use heat but that usually makes me feel worse.

Have you seen a doctor for pain meds? Muscle relaxers? Those also help.

Hello and welcome, sure wish we were meeting under better circumstances than chronic pain.
Can you use those icey/hot patches maybe, place it on your back at one of your jobs, Kaely had great suggestions that you try ice, and I will add you use ice for 20 minutes then you add heat for 20 minutes for like a 1 - 2 punch...and also that you maybe take a day off and see your doctor and at least get some back x-rays, maybe even an mri of your back.
Prayers and come here and vent away anytime...

Hi Wenda and welcome to the forum. I am sorry that you have to be here but glad that you found us.I think you will find us to be a friendly outgoing group of people that suffer with chronic pain because of lots of different medical issues.

I would suggest that you get an appt with your primary care physician and ask that he put you on a anti-inflammatory medication, something like Mobic for instance. It is available in a generic and not all that expensive. I think you would probably benefit more from this than trying OTC meds. I am not a dr, however, I have the same condition and this is what my dr is doing with me. You need something to combat the inflammation. If you are using heat, be careful too much heat can aggravate your condition and make it worse.I totally understand what you are saying about your work. But, one thing about this type of arthritis is you must stay as active as possible.
