For the past three years i've been living with almost constant ankle pain after i hurt it playing football. I was originally told it was just a mild sprain and it would be fine with so ibuprofen, 6 months later when i was still in agony i went to my doctors who referred me to the physio and they said there was nothing they could do. 2 years later (after 2 and a half years of pain) i went back to the doctors and they again referred me to the physio, this time they were more helpful and i saw a physio/rehabilitator once every week/2 weeks for 5-6 months and my ankle improved alot. I was told by the senior physio at this point that i had infact torn the ligaments in my ankle and not just sprained it and they said this would improve with the physio visits as it did so they dismissed from the physio 3 months ago now and since then its just gone back down hill and i am in constant pain again. Do you think it is worth going back to the doctors again? i worry that they will just send me back to the physio when this clearly hasn't worked long term, as a person who enjoys sport and exercise its really annoying being in this much pain as it prevents me from doing as much as i wish
