update on me.....I walked by 4 houses today for a little exercise and my leg is having a painful fit tonight.  It is up to an 8 so I took a vicadin.  I also applied a compound gel to my knee.  Im in bed and my leg is on a pillow.

I was doing so good since Im here in FL.  So I guess no walking down the street.

I dont want to take oxycontin, I went thru the withdrawels.  No fun.

Hey Betsy, that's pretty ambitious, hope your leg feels better after resting it. Just wondering if maybe you had thought about some PT while you're there? Seems like you want to get moving, I'd think that would be the way to start; even if you did PT before, might have some more positive results since it seems like you're progressing. Thanks for the update, hope you have a good Christmas.

Glad Florida is suiting you well, and that you are trying to walk. Sounds a bit painful to me, glad you got
the meds handy to help you through it.

Here it is going on 1:00 am and no sleep yet but the pill helped my leg. PT down here is horrendous. I had PT done here... no machines all hands on manipulation. I thought I was going lose it. To painful.

I get in my hot tub and movde my leg up and down and side to side and try to straighten it.

My neighbor invited me over to his house for christmas...he has 5 children. Im bringing a edible arrangement to take over there.

Back hurts along with the leg. Barometric pressure is changing here . That is why I have pain today.

I didnt walk down the street today. Hung around the house.

I took a pill so now I wait until I feel relief. Pain at a 7.

That's what gets ya in the south. I think it's more humidity, pressure may play into it, but the humidity I find affects me more.

Humidity has been bad but my A/c is on in the house and the car.

My back and ribs hurt along with the leg. Took a vicadin pain is down to a 5 do that isnt to bad.

Everyone have a nice holiday. My hubby sent me his christmas presents to me so I sat them under my tree, I ordered him a pack of yummy frozen steaks, he will get them friday and he was a cale yarborough nascar fan so I bought him a model car that was autographed by Cale.

I will keep in touch with my online family.

I am up and slowly trying to get awake.  today, I have got to try to take a shower.   It is so difficult.  Then when Im finished doing that Im exhausted.  I know everyone else knows what Im talking about. 

 

Yesterday I soaked in my hot tub.  Made my back and ribs feel better. 

 

It will be  a slow day for me.  Everyone take care

I wish you had a better place you could go to for phsyical therapy as ultra sound therapy might help your knee, try warm and cold compressess on that knee and I sure hope you can get a low pain day soon...
Maybe try putting an ace bandage wrap in the freezer and then wraping your leg up after the wrappings cold then maybe that might help.

Thinking of you and hoping that you are getting some control over your pain. Isn't it strange how our bodies react to change. I know I react better to heat than cold, but humidity is not something I ever have to contend with unless I am on holidays. Maybe your body just needs time to adjust to your new surroundings and temperatures. Pray you will start to feel some relief soon.

Betsey I hope you've managed to get some pain relief. I sure can relate with you, I hurt 24/7 and at times I think I'm going to lose my mind.

It is in the high 30's here and Im having problems walking. I turned on my heat to the house for an hour and then I turned it off. Gosh I hurt. Pain is at an 8. This stinks.

I will lay low around my house today. I should buy a cane that would help me walk.

Here it is the day after christmas....I had a good christmas...went on a boat ride...very enjoyable and then went to my neighbors house for dinner.  They made me feel like family...it was wonderful!

 

Talked to my husband on the phone 6 times yesterday.  I miss him.

 

I woke up today and my lymphedema in my lower left leg was down considerably and I had a small ankle.  Pain is down to a 2.  Unbelievable.  I will go with the flow and when it swells up again try to reduce it.

Leg swelled back up and it isnt going down. Darn lymph edema.

Taking over the counter antiinflammatory pain meds

I took down my xmas decorations and tomorrow I will take down the tree and stuff it back into the big box.

Hey Betsy, glad you had a good Christmas. Hope the swelling in your leg goes down tonight. I think if it keeps going, you might want to go see your doctor about it. My understanding is that NSAIDs can make lymphadema worse sometimes, and sometimes even cause it. I hope thats not the case, and I've heard its a rare side effect. Anyways, thanks for the update. I started the lymph edema the night of my accident in 2010. All my lymph nodes were destroyed when my tibia exploded. My lower leg swelled so much that the docters thought that I had compartment syndrome. I came close to having my leg amputated.

I never want anyone to go through what I went through with this leg.

I picked up my puppy at the airport. She is very small, cute , and trying to please me. She already piddled on the wee wee pad at the door. She goes to a vet today to be checked over.

Leg and back has pain in it today. Pain at a7.

I'm a long time lurker and occational poster...Welcome to Florida!

I live just north of Tampa. My pain levels increase dramatically when either a cold or warm front comes thru.

That's great you now have your puppy to keep you company.

It's supposed to be warmer today so hope your pain level decreases.

Natalite I know exactly what your talking about when the fronts move in. My pain now is at a 4 so Im happy about that.

Took my puppy to a vet and she is healthy.

Im making spagehetti sauce for my dinner tonight. Im going to take a nap.

Today I have pain in my shoulder blades and left leg. Took otc med and it didnt touch the pain so tonight I will take a vicadin.

A front was to arrive today but we didnt get any rain.

I washed my puppy in the sink. She got thru it ok.

Back is really hurting me today. I think it is going to rain.

Im going to bed early tonight to try to diminish my pain somewhat
