Since many of us here are on multiple medications, plus patches and whatnot that don't fit into the regular pill reminders that they sell at CVS/Walgreen's/WalMart, I've figured out a solution. Maybe someone before me has done this, but here's an idea for those who haven't gotten there yet.
Hardware stores (and online, like amazon) sell these bins with decent sized (2"x2") drawers for screws and small parts. Most are interlocking and can be labeled. When the little fliptop cheapo pill reminders don't work anymore, this could be an option.
An example:
www.bahrns.com/AKRO-MILS-Parts-Storage-Cabinets-id56880.htmlThis can do multiple doses per day, they can be set up for drawers for patches or other supplies, and it's all in one spot. As for meds that require a pill count, a small tab of paper in the bin for that day and time (like Tuesday afternoon) to remind you to take that dose from the bottle, so the count in the bottle stays right, and the bottle can go in one of the drawers.
Plus the whole shebang can be screwed to the wall of a closet or shelf in a cabinet where it is out of reach (if you have kids) or sight for security. And most smart phones will let you set multiple timers, which you can label (I know mine does), so after setup, alarm #15 goes off, I go to bin 15, take my meds, and continue with my day. Alarm 16, same thing.
Anyway, it's what I'm considering. I've got bunches of bottles, including my OTC stuff sitting here staring at me, and it's a little depressing.
