Oh it's definitely pharmacist related. I've had issues previously. My insurance company would give me one specific answer, and the pharmacist would pointedly say: "It doesn't matter what your insurance company says, it's not up to them." And, where (decades ago) I used to be able to get a Rx and pay cash if there was some hoopla (again pharmacist related), where it was fine, it's now impossible, even though my docs then and now have brought that up. And it has nothing to do with filling a Rx early either.
I have found pharmacists can be your best friends, or they can un-do years of work we do. I've had one pharmacist (new at the time) refuse to my Rx because HE said, "You shouldn't need both of these meds." That one pharmacist had the power to potentially destroy years of hard work I had been establishing with my doc.
It's their licenses. They, too, can be held accountable if they dispense meds THEY, for whatever reason, find "questionable." Yes, they can trump your doctor, and they can even lie to you and tell you they do not have your medication in stock, or no they don't carry it, or no they can't get it. Sometimes it's true, but I've discovered (based on pharmacists, not pharmacy) that these things happen.
I can't help but feel situations like this exacerbate genuine CP'ers fears and can, unintentionally, assist in our allowing them to make us feel bad or evil for needing these medications, dreading each monthly visit.
