Hmmm....The information that I read only says it's a "recomendation" but not a requirement. And that recommendation is about
talking to your provider will be on the label now.
It just says to talk with your healthcare provider to see "IF" you should change your dosages.
Here is the part from ABC news:
The FDA is requiring new labels on medications that contain zolpiden and recommended that women currently taking sleeping medications containing zolpiden consult with their healthcare provider to determine if a lower dosage should be prescribed.
(Bold on the if was my doing to make sure people see this)
So...it's important to read the findings to make sure that for women, if they are driving or doing anything 8 hours after taking the medication that they are extremely careful and may want to adjust "when" it's taken the night previously.
It also mentions the CR version of the 12.5 that the results were close to being the same for both women and men but even a higher percentage of the drug still in the body after 8 hours to possibly impair someone.
I take it and want to be as safe as possible. I currently take mine at 8pm and don't go anywhere before 8am usually but will make sure I stay within the time period.
Thanks LC for bringing this to our attention!
