Help
I have read all of your wonderful comments and advice . I will try to share the short story. At birth had problems but family had no health insurance and so when my dad went to work for ASP, we still had a year waiting because of the (pre-existing) condition.
So at ripe old age of 5 I could not stand straight. Started when Dr in Little Rock could not help so we were referred to Dr Walter P. Blount in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The inventor of the Milwaukee Brace. In fact my case of scoliosis and degenerative bone disease was so advanced that I saw him for 4 years where he fitted me for the Milwaukee Brace. I wore it 23hrs a day and at age 9 they operated on me in Memphis TN by Dr. Alan Edmundson. They were not able to use the steel rods so soft cartilage was taken from my hip and was grafted onto the vertibrate. Wore full body cast for 13 months.
To my problem. FDA & DEA have become so involved in things they know nothing about
. I left Nevada taking 4-100mg Kadian, dilauded for BT pain, some, and robaxin with 10mg flexeril at bed time. There was not a pain management Dr. in southwest ARK that would even see me once they got medical records. Had to go to Texarkana and then finally to Little Rock when they
opened a clinic.
At the age of 22, I was prescribed Darvecet, SOMA Robaxin and nitely flexeril and was told to Look forwalrd to this life.
At the age oaf 17, I quit wearing the brace and worked from 1981 until June of 2004. I was medically retired.
I have had my medicine lowered
In dosage amounts but with more frequency of taking what I get. Currently MS contin er,diazapam, Baclofen, and oxycodone for BT pain. I never take all that is prescribed as I want to know what goes on in my world.
The PROBLEM been taking some type of these medications for last 15 to 15 1/2 years. Any suggestions I could bet the DR. To try would be greatly appreciated. How bad is my case you might as? I was one of the featured patients in Dr. Blounts a book with before and after pics with the brace. I need a new direction but not sure where too start. I need to find something that subsides the pain to a tolerable amount. I know nothing can ever take away all the pain just need it bearable so I can watch my last two little boys grown. They are 8&11. Any ideas and suggestions. Current DR. Is super nice and seems to really care.
Thanks
ARMAN
