Mastering Pain

I am sorry for all those that had trouble opening the link. It is not advertisment or spam. We are genuinely trying to build a site but want to know what people are looking for. We know what we would like to see as both of us suffer from chonic pain but we are not the only two in the world who deal with it. If you would like to just tell me on here that is fine too. You do not need to go to the site to help us. I am not trying to pull people from this site as I can see many people use it and love it, thats why I came here in hopes that you might be able to give me some feed back.

I am new on here and am not sure how to set this up so I can get email notifications when someone replies but I will check back in a couple days.

(Edited, by moderator). Its the first one to come up in the search. It is a pretty blank site because we have only just begun building it. The welcome forum is where you can post your comments if you go to the site but feel free to just let us know what you look for in a pain management site here.

We are not trying to be rude but it's kind of like setting up a root beer stand in A&W' s parking lot.

We love our home here,the folks who frequently call this forum home are kind compassionate and above all they have decades combined of experience living with CP.

We offer opinions and we take what we need from the board and leave the rest without hard feelings of differences,here we respect that each of us deals with and lives with our pain in a vast number of ways.

We have the most awesome mods who clearly have no problem explaining why something has to be amended or removed.

If you have joined us and read here even you would have seen just what we are about here and would have no reason for asking us to explain why we are here and why we've been here so long.

If you get a small number of the kind of people we have here their compassion and understanding will build your site for you.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here - what a surprise! Lol I really don't think that there is anything underhanded going on here. It's not a competition - there are plenty of people living/dealing/suffering with chronic pain in the world to go around. It doesn't seem to me that this new site is trying to 'steal' anyone or pressure anyone to leave HW. Besides, they are two completely different types of sites. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with seeing what people want/what it takes to have a successful forum: i.e. have good mods monitoring the site, have a good set of rules/guidelines, have a variety of topics to choose from - that kind of thing. In the 'real world' there are industry workshops/conventions that share information and suggestions. Besides, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. --Charles Colton

Anyway, that's just my $0.02 worth!

I'm not planning on going anywhere, because HW is the place for me, BUT I know it's not for everyone. So...

I found HW because I did a google search for chronic pain forums or something like that.

I was just looking for a place to vent and talk to people in a situation similar to mine. I ended up getting a lot more out of this place than I thought I would, and meeting some really amazing people.

For me, the people make this place. There are other sites, but none of the other ones I've browsed have had quite the same character. The mods are great...helpful, watchful, knowledgeable, but not overbearing or power hungry.

There's a wide variety of topics...although I still want to see a Cerebral Palsy section go up :p

And the rules are simple and easy to follow...and enforced equally.
