Hi Danar4golf and Welcome to Healing Well Chronic Pain Forum, I agree with Snowbunny I would definitely go for a second oppinion. Most surgeons will not touch thoracic disk, as they consider the surgery to dangerous, and will only consider doing it if paralysis is involved and need to stop or prevent it. I know that they have made allot of advances in the the last few years, but from what I have been told by both orthopedic and neurosurgeons they will not even consider surgery on the thoracic area, unless it is absolutely necessary. So I would definitely be wanting to get a second oppinion about it, before I would let any surgeon consider that type of surgery on me. Just my two cents worth.
Anyway again I want to Welcome you to our forum, I do hope that you stick around and become an active member of our chronic pain family. I think you will find we have some very caring and compassionate people here, and although we can not cure you, we can lend you our ears and listen to you and let you know that your not alone with your pain, and we can give you our support and what advice that we may have. I think you will find that the people here can empathize with you, because we all know what it is like to suffer with chronic pain.
I wish you well!
