I have a quick list in my purse right next to my license of ICE number to call (both family member and PM DR.), list of meds, and making it known I have titanium in my neck.
During my years as a FF/EMT, we would look for any type of medical alert
bracelet and then any info about
meds in their wallet or purse as this was before the cell phone craze:). It was more up to the ER staff once at the hospital to contact the ICE person that was listed and do a more detailed history if needed.
On most calls for someone elderly, the person who made the 911 call (family or friend with the patient at their home) would direct us to any type of DNR if there was one but that is also information that is already known to us from dispatch before we get there, so there wasn't any need to do any searching.
