Links Please

Hey all,

Just a quick note..... if you post something that you are saying is a new law, DEA regulation, etc.... please back it with a link to it's source.

I've seen many things over the last month here that people posted.... that ended up being something that they were told by a particular pharmacy.... doctor.... etc.

If you are just asking other members if they've heard of various info being told to them -- that's fine.... but, again, if you are quoting a new law, policy, DEA regulation, state law - please provide a source. I will link a few sites I use below (if you have others - feel free to add to this thread).

Just wanted to add that the CSA (Controlled Substance Act) that was made into law in 1970 and is a Federal Law.

The only possible amendment in the last 5 years that is of significance is a bill that has been introduced as of March 2013. It is H.R. 1285 which is to amend the CSA with making Hydrocodone a Schedule II med Federally. Hydrocodone is already a Schedule II in some states like NY and FL.

That is why as Tina mentions, it's important to know whether something is truly a state or Federal law or just a particular pharmacy or Dr. making their own decision.

When people go to the first link to the DEA you listed, reading the FAQ section on the right hand side is very informative.

Another website that I find very helpful that lists pretty much all information regards to controlled substances from possible new federal or state legislation, drug change information, recalls, etc. is:

I go to this site/page every few days and it is automatically "refreshed" with any new articles and it's a perfect place to get information.

Tina, thanks so much for posting this. I had intended on sending you an email about posting something along these lines here at forum. We get so many conflicting stories & we all have too much grief to deal with every day, we do not need to add more unnecessary junk to go with it.
