Laura update...bit of a vent

Hi everyone, and sorry I've not been round more to support you all. The last weeks especially have been pretty tough. My CRPS is actually behaving relatively well, but everything else seems to be chucking major tanties to make up for it :(

My hip has been terrible recently - I saw my surgeon a while ago and he arranged a cortisone shot (which helped quite a lot, but only for a couple of weeks and also made me quite sick) but also said that in almost anyone else he would probably be recommending an arthroscopy because he thinks I have a labral tear - problem is the CRPS, which in my case was first caused, then spread by knee arthroscopies.

I had a flu shot - and had a bad reaction to it that saw me needing antihistamines and feeling pretty sick for a while.

Had my SCS battery replaced six weeks ago - and the incision still hasn't healed. The battery is also - other than being easier to charge - barely an improvement on my going flat one that it was replacing. There's also something odd going with my programs and the stimulation keeps hitting me in the bladder. I've got bladder pain anyway, so it's not a whole lot of fun. And... I'm now on my 10th UTI for the year. I've got cellulitis again for the umpteenth time. Grrr!

My good news... My best friend (who also has CRPS) is coming from interstate to stay with me in July. We've picked out one day and we're organising a get together with all the CRPS-ers from my state we know. It should be a good day.

I've also decided to have a go at starting my own online business. Even when I'm stuck in bed I used crafts as a distraction... I make my bears as some of you know, I paint and make cards as well. When I'm up and about I have also made soaps and other cosmetic type products - always as gifts in the past but I'm told they are well and truly good enough to sell :) I have hopes - and it gives me a purpose.

I hope you are all traveling as well as you can be. It must be nearly summer for most of you now, as winter is creeping in here! Any summer plans?

Sorry to hear about all your pain issues as of late....You'll have to explain your Aussie talk with "chucking major tanties"....??? LOL

That is great that you have your friend coming to visit you...It's always wonderful to look forward to something that will bring us joy.

I am planning a trip to see my dad, stepmom, and brother and his new wife in June/July.

I sure will pray that you start getting better with the cellulitis and UTI and healing from the SCS surgery.

Good luck with the online business! It really does help to find any type of work that we love to do as well as are capable of doing physically.

Laura so good to hear from you but so sorry you are having so many difficulties.It seems like if its not one thing its another.

You will really enjoy having your friend come stay with you ,that will be so much fun.
