Oh the pain! I usually get a few weeks of relief after getting my injections but the day of the procedure and the day after are horrible! I have been using ice on the injection site to no avail... What do you guys do on procedure day to to alleviate the intense pain?

Or am I the only one who experiences this surge in pain? smhair

No you are not the only one who gets a surge in pain post injection. I get it to though mine doesn't show up until the next day and then hangs around for a couple of days.

For me ice makes the pain worse. I have better luck with mild heat.

My Doc uses huge amount of numbing Med so like Jim it's the next few days for me and heats better.

I've been pretty lucky with my PM in that I hardly ever feel much pain with injections. I end up using ice and Advil to help with any inflammation that occurs.

Hope it goes well and helps with your pain levels!

Thanks everyone! I tried heat in my pelvic area where the pain is the worse and I actually got some relief. I really appreciate the ideas!

No sleep tonight cause of my screaming nerves. :-( *Sigh*

I just have to remind myself that I'll be feeling well soon and this will all be worth it.

I'm so sorry about your increased pain. My injections and RFA's always left me the same way and it was horrible until it eased up. I'm so glad not to have to do them anymore!

I have to mention that I love your signature line....smiles are contagious aren't they? I'll send you one from here today :)

Thanks Retired Mom! It worked! I'm smiling!

My Doctor mentioned this may be my last injection. He's not satisified that it's benefitial when the relief isn't very long term in my case.
