*No offense to you at all Boxerlover...(Good to see you btw!) This is just my OWN thoughts here....but I truly don't think these type of petitions do anything...I read the whole thing and all it is doing is complaining about
chronic pain patients and treatment as a whole.
Sending this randomly to "Congress" will not affect anyone because it's not addressed to anyone specific. There are 535 voting members in Congress and I can guarantee that this petition will not be read by any of them with all that is on their plate. They look at things that affect them directly and concentrate on what is on their voting agenda.
Keep in mind, there has not been a single substantive change to the Controlled Substance Act since 2008 that affects anything that the DEA does.
People need to write and object to particular bills that are being introduced to make a difference. The main one that is in the House right now is about
making Hydrocodone a Schedule II med Federally. I don't happen to be too upset about
this personally, but if people disagree then write to the authors of this bill.
As well as actually contacting your own state's Senator or Congressman and see what is being introduced in their state's legislature. This is the way to truly make a difference BEFORE a bill becomes law.
There have been hundreds of these types of petitions lately and to me, it makes those of with CP look worse because it doesn't address anything in particular.
Again, these are just my own thoughts and realize that not everyone feels the same..LOL..So this isn't meant to start an argument...If people feel this is something they want to sign and support then I respect that decision.
