Ugh...The time has come.

Tomorrow I am having a Nissan Fundulopication done. If you remember, I was inpatient with a nasty case of pseudomonas pneumonia. Pulmonologist is not sure I'm strong enough to take on the same beast twice. I reflux and aspirate in my sleep. It's not stomach acid so those types of meds don't help. It's actual stomach contents. I also aspirate when I'm sick to my stomach due to the very limited jaw opening from the TMJ replacements. Just bad all around.

I will also have a g tube place again. This will allow me to vent my stomach when I feel sick. Surgeon is worried that I will tear the internal sutures since I have such a difficult time healing.

I've been told to expect a fairly long hospital stay. Usually most patients leave after 3 days. Dr said a week would be the best case scenario. I just have too much stuff going on.

So-rise and shine for me. I check in at 8am. Really not looking forward to this. Surgeon is very blunt-I should only have surgery to save life or limb. I just want this to be over and be back home with my little man.

I will be thinking of you honey. I know this is hard but it's for the best. Just take one day at a time. I'll be praying for you. Please let us know how it goes as soon as you feel able. ((((hugs)))) and good luck. xxx

Good luck with your surgery. I know a thing or two about this one, LOL!

Will they be putting in the normal NG tube or the one that goes through your belly? If it's the NG, I am sorry. I have had so many of them I cringe just thinking of it.

A couple things that may come up at the hospital, don't use a straw and don't drink ice cold drinks. The straw introduces more air into your system and cold drinks can cause esophagus spasms.

Walking will help with the shoulder pain if you are having it done lap. Hopefully you don't have to have it done as an open surgery, but if you do my open surgery was actually less painful than my 2 lap nissens.

My prayers and hope are with you and your surgeon. Sounds rough, but be happy to read when you are safely back on the other side, in recovery.

I'll be thinking about you. My fingers are crossed that everything goes well. I'm gonna send off a prayer tonight that the surgery goes without a hitch, that the recovery is speedy, that your pain is managed appropriately, that the surgery makes life better overall, and that you get home ASAP to be with your little man.

Please definitely update us when you can so we know you're okay.

Lots of prayers coming your way. I pray that your surgery goes well and that all turns out fine. I'll also be praying for a speedy recovery, well managed pain control and returning home ASAP to be with your Little Man.

I know you really didn't want to go through this, but it's for the best and hopefully once it's done it will make a HUGE difference for you. I'm in the same boat as you surgery only when necessary, we just are to darn sick for stuff like this. You're going to do just fine and I'll be thinking and praying for you often tomorrow.

When you are up to letting us know how your are doing, please do so. Things are going to be fine, you'll be home before you know it.

Hoping everything goes exactly as planned and more! Hope you don't have to stay there for those seven days, but if that's what it takes to make you loads better then hopefully you won't have to deal with it much longer after that.

Will be praying for you that everything goes even better than expected! I know they have had to give you "worse case scenarios" but I will think positively that your body stays strong and you get through this easily like others do for this surgery.

I do know that once it is over you will feel so much better from what I've heard from those who had them done!

Rest up and take things one minute/hour/day at a time!!!

I'm a little late on the well wishes due to some bad pain days but I truly hope that everything goes as planned. Here's to a speedy recovery, pain that is managed well, and a quick trip back home with loved ones.
