Exalgo Patients Need Help.

So last month my PM decided to add Exalgo 8MG daily pain meds to my regiment. Currently I take Perc 10/325's and Nucynta 200MG ER's together. The Nucynta just makes the Perc last longer when taken together but it works for my BT pain.

Anyway, I got the 28 day free trial of Exalgo 8MG and wouldn't you know it I had the best month in a long time. The only thing I did different was the Exalgo. Now I don't feel the Exalgo at all, I take it at 7AM every morning. Even when taking my regular meds it doesn't increase the intensity or anything. I'm not looking to get ripped as I have a good job, I'm just wondering if others feel the effect.

For those who take Exalgo is the feeling you get too? I know it's a 24 hour extended release dilaudid with plastic shell. My next issue is I thought since they help me it would cost a fortune now but they were $75 for 28 pills.

I think the question is do the other people who take exalgo "feel" high from it, or does it just add pain relief to the existing meds.

Yes, that's my question. When I normally go on a new med I notice either the side effects or feel that it's making a difference. I feel nothing with Exalgo so I'm not sure it's either working or not working. Since I had the best month in a long time and the only difference was taking Exalgo then I have to assume it's the Exalgo.

My PM Doctor next month will either take the Exalgo away or the Nucynta since both are Extended Release meds. I mix Nucynta with my Percocet's per my Doctor's instruction and really extends the short term Percocet much longer. I have to make a choice between Exalgo or Nucynta at my next visit. I just got my Exalgo filled yesterday so I have 28 days to decide. This is why I posted about Exalgo trying to find people on this medication and their results.

Check the search feature here at the forum. There has not been very many people that have come through here that has tried this medication. I don't think we currently have anyone on it.

I used the search function and found lots of people on Exalgo with the same question as mine- is it working? Apparently dilaudid in 12-24 hour extended release tabs is less euphoric which is why it's not felt. The shell this pill is in, plastic is freaking me out. Guess some of the food we ingest is probably worse.

If you are getting a euphoric feeling on the three together maybe it was too much medication. Very few people ever get that feeling unless their meds are too strong. One thing I saw many write about is they did not feel it controlled their pain very well. You do not see many people on it......Susie

I don't feel anything which is why I asked the question on here. Apparently Exalgo contents and how it releases won't cause a loopy or high feeling. They have 8MG, 16MG, 32MG and 64MG versions and those who take high doses don't get that effect either. I'm only on the 8MG pill.

I'll have to credit Exalgo for the good month I had since it's the only thing I did different. I just have to figure which ER med to drop at my next PM appointment.

JP it really makes no sense for the dr to have given you the med to try without taking you off of the other. It would be impossible to know if it helped you by having you to take both. Why not get the dr to agree to a month or two of just Exalgo as trial. That would then give you an idea if it will help or not.

Probably a good idea. If I have another good month I'll have him cancel the monthly Nucynta.

I take hydromorph contin which is extended release dilaudid and it has been the only thing that works for me. I tried so many other different types and still had horrible pain. I never felt loopy or high from it. I am not sure if Exalgo is the equivalent to what I take but I was thinking that it is. I take dilaudid for breakthrough pain as well and this combo just really works for me.
