Yikes, its Monday and so people check in and tell us about
your weekend. Do you have anything special planned for the week ahead? My biggest thing for the week was going this morning for my pump refill. We shall see what the week will hold....

Well starting this check-in actually sitting in the Dr office, the FDA has already began the new regulations. I just filled out 2 new forms asking things I dont see their purpose in.
Several questions regarding ethnicity and race. All OTC meds, vits, supplements, also asked for degree of pain relief provided by my meds as well as degree of relief and types of alternative treatment.
Had to give Dr permission to obtain all pharmacy records and to once again name address physically of pharmacy used. Can't just say Walgreens anymore. Also had to sign release for Dr to obtain all previous records from any and all pharmacy, hospital, and treating Drs.
Im not sure I particularly like all the releases and questions, haven't seen Dr yet so if anything else pops up back there I will come back to tell.

Doing alright I suppose...did some yoga with my mother the other day. A special "back" yoga...taught modifications for those who lower back issue. Really helped, because some of the other moves without mods really, really sent some spasms/shocks down my back/legs.
@nvrthesame98
Maybe I'm young and stupid, but it feels like the last 10 or so years has been the decade of privacy invasion. I understand what they are trying to do(stop doctor shopping/lower drug addicts I guess)...but man.
Hope everyone's week will be grand! With hopefully some good-pain days! :)

Well this morning I had the plumbers come so I left them with my husband and took my dogs for a walk. Well my Corgi mix decides to take off up a slick grassy hill jerking the leash out of my hand. I slip when I try to catch it and my Rhodesian is behind me pulling up around the other side causing me to land hard on my tail bone and my right leg is in spasms. Peanut (corgi) is now in the ditch trying to catch what ever caught his attention and Lucy (Rhodesian) is trying to get to Peanut jerking my spine all over the place. Peanut comes trotting back to me and it takes me almost a half hour to get back on my feet. Had a woman in the same complex look at me and walk the other direction even after I asked her for help. My neighbor saw me when I was about
half way hobbled back to my apartment. She immediately grabbed my dogs and ran them to my apartment and got my husband.
I was laid up in bed all day with spasms and am at work with my leg still giving out on me. My husband is on the same shift as me so he is handling the hard stuff while I get the phones. If the pain doesn't go down by morning I get to go enjoy sitting in the emergency room. I know I should have gone when I fell but I have had so many issues with being accused of being a drug seeker, hypochondriac, faker ect that unless I have to I won't.
Hope everyone else is doing well

I would hold out & get in to see my PCP. They will probably grill you because you did not come in when it happened and most likely not give you any meds. At least if you see your PCP you have a better chance of getting some real care.
I hope things calm down for you.Take care...Susie

Hi, I'm new and thought I would also check-in, too. I hope that is alright.
My weekend was not so hot. We had a change in the weather and I guess it kicked my pain level up. So I spent the weekend in bed with the heating pad, lots of pillows and taking my meds. My husband had to head out of town for the week. Thankfully, today was much better.
I'm sorry to read some are having such a hard time. Mthixton, I hope you are alright. Sounds like you had a bad fall. I have a Tarlov Cyst in my tailbone. So I understand that kind of pain. Praying that you get relief soon.

Despite having beautiful early fall weather here in SC, we decided we needed a chill out weekend. Mostly stayed home and rested a lot. Did make it to church and to brunch after. The rest of Sunday, was in a lot of misc. pain, so ended up taking two major nap periods.

Unfortunately I am still waiting on a pcp. I tried to call my primary but he wasn't in today either only had his very snooty nurse who didn't want to talk to me on the phone. So I can at least honestly say I tried to get in contact with my doctor to no avail. I don't want any more meds hence me trying to get in contact with my primary. I will go see him tomorrow if I can get in with him.
I just want to lay down and soak in a deep hot tub.

Hi all Saturday was not good. We had rain all day, and my back was hurting so bad all day. Sunday was much better, as it was sunny and my back wasn't hurting as bad.
I don't have any appointments this week, so I'll just be doing the same old same old.
love and hugs

Lower back and neck and right shoulder and arm, all are driving me nuts with the pain! But I can't let up and "pay the piper" quite yet! I still have allot of packing yet to do and running out of time to do it all in! So as we used to say in my old military days, ""Grin and bare it!!" So I bare it! even though it is not with a "grin" just a big grimace!!! Anyway I have had my break now! So it is time for me to get back to work packing!. Will be glad when this move is all over with! Unpacking it all, I can just take my time, as there will be no hurry to get it all done.

Hi all,
I normally lurk, but I am trying to be more vocal and participate more, LOL! My weekend was a slight mix. The weather also affected my pain levels and within the past few weeks I have developed a few "new pains" that I will have to discuss with my pain doc at my upcoming appointment on Thursday. I have been having a lot of pain in my left foot, I broke two bones in three different places in this foot back in February and it has bothered me on and off since, but has really begun to be more chronic, a daily thing. It alternately hurts (probably from being on it too much), as well as it aches and burns at times. The burning is what mostly concerns me because I relate a burning type of pain with nerve pain and I don't understand why there would be nerve pain there. It may just be arthritis developing since I broke those bones? Not sure.
I also seem to have pulled a muscle in my right upper arm and it has been pretty painful over the weekend, but has been starting to get a little better. Hopefully by Thursday it will be a non-issue. For the upcoming week, I will hopefully just be taking care of my family (as all of us Moms do) to the best of my ability, visiting the library and going to my pain doc appt on Thurs.
Vickie - New forms for us to fill out from the FDA does not sound good IMO! Was this when you were at your pain doc or your PCP's office? Not sure how I would feel about
this either, not that I would want to sign a bunch of releases for them, but I would guess they don't give you/us much of a choice. I am wondering what I will face at my docs appt on Thurs? Will let you know!
Josh - I have been doing a mod. yoga for my lower back issues also for abt 3-4 months now. It is helping to strengthen my body core and has really given me more confidence in my abilities. Hope it does the same for you and your Mom!
Morgan - I am so sorry to have about
your fall! I hope and pray that your pain and spasms subside so that you do not have to go to the ER! I know how we can get treated and how it makes us feel. It definitely affects my self esteem whenever it has happened to me. I am glad at least 1 of your neighbors was able to help out! Unfortunately there are just too many people out there that so easily adopt that "look the other way and do not want to get involved" attitude. Do you have a pain doc you could try to get an emergency appt with? I see from your posting that the PCP has been no help.
David - Sorry to hear about
your higher pain levels on Sunday evening, I am glad your were able to get some extra rest and I hope that helped! It is really good that you were able to make it to church and brunch! I am sure that both you and your wife cherish those times when it is possible!
White Beard - I understand the "grin and bare it" philosophy - been doing that one for too many years! I hope you can get your packing done ASAP and I am praying you can be in less pain soon! Good luck with your move!
Stephanie - I am praying for you to be in less pain!
Loretta - Sorry to hear about
the increased pain on Saturday, I am glad that it lessened for you on Sunday! At least you got a small break!
Chartreux - I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time of it! I have followed your posts even though I haven't posted on your threads. I will keep you in my prayers!!
Take care all and I hope we all have a "low pain level" week!

I'm miserable as usual, have been for about
3 weeks now. My IBS still hasn't lessened up, luckily there's a rest room right outside of my office. I've developed pain in my hands / wrist / fingers. It feels like they fell asleep and are halfway to waking up, you know the burning, buzzing, tingling, ice cold feeling. It makes it really hard to type. So on top of all of that I'm very grouchy and miserable but not missing any work at least.
Love, Prayers and hugs to everyone. I hope everyone is doing OK.

Trudy it was at the PM Dr! At least he didnt hit me with anymore when I saw him. These were up front when I signed in.
It also said there was a new system for refills that would be sent directly to the pharmacy. Now I'm wondering what they're talking about
since you cant get refills on any of the narcotics. I only see him every 2 months and the 2nd script
has the current date with a "do not fill until? " date on it. He also writes my lyrica but that's a 6 month script
. I dont know if they mean they're going to start sending that 2nd script
to the pharmacy or what. He did tell me once too many people were "losing " that 2nd one and to make very sure I kept it as safe as my meds because he was no longer allowed to replace it?
Walgreens says they're not allowed to keep them on file anymore either. I still got both this month so not sure what's up with that.

Hi Vickie,
I just wanted to touch base with you regarding my PM doc appt yesterday. I had to update my file with them and sign a few things, but none of them were releases of any type. Just the financial thing and privacy notice.
There was one additional piece of paperwork for me to fill out, but it was about
pain levels and emotional/depreesion issues.
My doc did not change any of my medications and I have been doing fairly well. She was happy for me to be able to do a little bit more and actually have less pain.
I believe the gold standard on RX'ing opiates/narcotics is one extended release medication and 1 B/T medicine and most docs stick to 2 a day of the B/T med. My doc has me on oxycontin 3 times a day - every 8 hours and I am allowed to take up to 4 of my B/T meds per day. I am very glad that I had no extra paperwork like you had. My doc mentioned nothing about
either the FDA or the DEA.
While at this appointment, I had to switch pharmacies also. I explained to her my situation and she wanted me to switch pharmacies. I have been with the same pharmacy for 15 years, my doc messed up on an RX last week and it was written for the incorrect amount. No one pointed this out to me, not the doctor or the pharmacist. When I asked my pharmacist to see the paper RX, he huffed and puffed and acted like I had no right. He told me on the phone that I should "trust him" and within the last month I had actually caught him in a huge lie to me, so he made me feel like a drug seeker just because I wanted to see the paper script
for myself.
After 15 years, I was dumbfounded and when I explained the situation, my doctor fully understood and she is glad that I did my homework and is more than willing to work with my new pharmacist as he is a compounding pharmacy and i am hoping that I can get some type of cream to help with pain.
Voltaren Gel is out as I am allergic to toradol. I was told the ingredients are too similar by my pain doc to try it.
I have never had to have the doctor replace a paper RX due to my losing it, but prior to January the pain clinic would always send my new script
s through the mail for me to get filled. Since January, I see my doc every two months and she hands them to me for each month to be filled. She will not send any RX's through the mail any more - no exceptions. I would guess that some were getting lost in the mail or she is just cutting costs on postage.
Glad I didn't have any extra paperwork and did not have to sign any releases. I hope everything goes ok for you in the future!!
Trudy
