i just finished reading the posts from dr jimmy and holycow, what a horrible thing to have to go through.
drjimmy, my thoughts and prayers for your speedy recovery. so that got me thinking(i know i think alot
and it gets me in trouble every time LOL) once i receive the pump i'm sure they'll pull me off some
of my meds. and is the risk of withdrawls going to be an issue. hope not. anyway any input would be
greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.
hope this evening fines everyone in great spirits and as less if not any pain. we can only wish.. rolleyes

No, I did not go through any WD's & cannot imagine why a dr would put a patient through that. Something you need to remember is the meds in the pump is in concentrated form & much stronger than oral meds. I have not read what happened to Dr Jimmy so have no idea what is going on there. You need to get yourself a small tablet & start making a list of questions to ask your dr. Having too much time on your hands will get you in trouble every time.

The calmer you are for your trial the better. Don't let yourself get all worked up over the trial.

Keep yourself busy before your trial, you can stress yourself out needlessly by worrying about the if's. The calmer you are for the trial the better. If you are stressing over the trial and your blood pressure goes up, the trial will e canceled, this is what I mean by getting in trouble. How long of a trial are you doing?

Hello everyone, Hi Susie, you are so correct in your pointers to the writer here. I just had the pain pump implanted in August, and my Dr. is still currently adjusting my meds (increasing), and the plan is to get me off of the Methadone pills, but since my pain is still jumpy at times, Im still taking my Methadone, but only 5mg when needed.

You will always read different opinions of good and bad and it seems at times that the mind always pull towards the bad of opinions thus causing one to have mixed feelings. I would rather have the pump, and think its a good thing thus far and as far as withdrawals, your doctor will not snatch you off your oral meds altogether, he will whine you down, which should eliminate the withdrawal effects.
