good afternoon everyone. well just got back from pain pump trial. great news, the test went good.
didn't take any pain meds. this morning and went in feeling about a 8/9 on the pain scale and just
they discharged me i was feeling 2/3. so i would say i did pretty good. had to write and share the
news. my pm gave me the green light to proceed. morphine was the drug they used and well be using.
so seems there might be good news for mark. after 9 years, i'm ready...

Mark that is awesome news, so glad to hear that you had a good trial. Hopefully you will not have a long wait to get it implanted. Keep us posted.

thank you for the replys. it actually went better then i thought it would. i was thinking before hand
it might be like a myelogram. had a couple of these and didn't really care for that..anyway
gonna call first thing so hopefully it will all go smooth.. thanks again..:)

Keep in mind though, when a pump is filled the drs always start out at the lowest dose possible with the pump but will increase it as needed to get you where you should be. I thought I had died & gone to heaven when I did my trial. I had not been that pain free in years. When I told my dr this that is when he lowered the hammer that starting out more than likely I would not feel that good. He was so right. You will go through a series of increases in the beginning.

Hi Mark!

So glad your trial went well. When are you going to have the pump implanted? Did your doc set a date yet?

I had good results with my trial and have had my pain pump since May '12. I've had some issues with my pain pump and have had WD symptoms but so far it has not been anything like WD from oral narcotics: no intense itching or vomiting. I saw your other thread on WD questions and was going to reply there. I've gone through WD while with Dilaudid in my pump and it's just been an escalation in pain and some mild diarrhea. Nothing that I couldn't deal with. Good luck with your pain pump.

Hi Mark please keep us informed on how this goes for you, I just got a call the other day, making my appointment to see the specialist in Indy for evaluation for the pain pump. But my appointment is not until January of next year! So I will be especially interested to hear how all this goes for you! Congratulations on the good news so far, and good luck to you.
